As above and Iceland have just taken the lead after 20 mins.

Great honour for RB. Was wondering as the match kicked off who was the last Claret to captain their country - anyone know? (It's not a quiz - I don't know the answer !!!)

It's on Eir2, which comes under BT Sports in Ireland. Should be some links out there.summitclaret wrote:Is it on tv?

No idea but best guesses would be Jimmy Mac, Alex Elder, Brian Flynn.Mayoclaret wrote:Great honour for RB. Was wondering as the match kicked off who was the last Claret to captain their country - anyone know? (It's not a quiz - I don't know the answer !!!)

HT 0-1. Ireland very poor. Iceland look far quicker and stronger, good team. Although Ireland only starting 2 from Fridays match.

62mins Hendrick subbed. No apparent problems.

FT 0-1. A reminder why I don't watch friendlies.
Re: Brady(Capt) and Hendrick start for Ireland
From BBC report on the game :
"In Coleman's absence, Burnley's Robbie Brady captained the Irish but his normally reliable crossing and set-piece delivery deserted him on several occasions"

Well not great last night from an Irish point of view , now on the flip side Brady did really well and looked the part last night Jeff was quite again didn't really get going to be honest .
4 hours sleep for myself last night and going to be a long day at work after the trip up to Dublin .

Played a different role yesterday. The deepest of the midfielders. Did OK but it stifled most of his best attributes, his energy and drive. He coasted through so didn't waste too much for Saturday.Tribesmen wrote:Jeff was quite again didn't really get going to be honest .
