At times environmentalists overstate their hand, but in the Precautionary principle they have adopted the most rational position for humans to take in light of the evidence science anecdote and experience have to offer.

America a country with the technological know how, wealth, energy and natural resources that make it the perfect place for the vast expansion of renewables now taken down a wholly unnecessary pathway of environmental degradation on the whim of a president governing by tantrum and blather.

It may come to pass that never in the history of human endeavour has one man's ego had such a negative impact on Planet Earth, a greedy grubby little man whose only interests are nationalistic, another who cannot see beyond the boundaries of his own country, sad times indeed.

America has become a fantastic piece of propaganda for those who oppose democracy. Two of the last three new presidents elected to the office having received fewer votes than their opponents. Republican gerrymandering that guarentees a Republican majority in the House of Representatives. And now they have a demagogue, fascist, wanabee-dictator for a President who was put into office by an enemy government who can waltz into office and reverse the actions of the previous President, who was elected both times with popular vote majorities, that was intended to keep this planet habitable for as many of us as possible, in favour of making it easier for those poor, oppressed fossil fuel companies to sacrifice the long term habitability of the planet for some short-term profit.

If i was Chinese, or Russian, or Saudi of from any other country that doesn't have democracy i'd probably look at America and laugh at the idea that democracy works.

There was an article in the Guardian yesterday from a climate scientist saying that the American Government has been deleting Arctic climate change data since Trump's inauguration. Getting rid of the science that opposes their position on climate change. They even knew it was coming, there were messages being sent around the scientific community reminding researchers to back up their research before it gets deleted. That this happens, and is known about, makes my head hurt.

That's why they are a fascist regime, remove any evidence which negates your views, hopefully American democracy is strong enough to withstand their attacks. Fancy the opium of celebrity culture might get in the way.
