Well I don’t really know what to say but I’m sure if it was a Football White List then things might not be seen in the same light.

Re: Football's Black List
Ouseley believes there is still much to be done as black players continue to be marginalised when they turn to coaching.
He said: 'If all the black players said they ain't going to play tomorrow, they're going to have to do something about it, there's no football. I'm not trying to advocate a strike but people need to recognise how powerful they are. After they've finished football and qualified as coaches they can't get a job.'
It is a shame "Lord" Ouseley wasn't available for a comment when Dwight Yorke didn't get the Villa job after texting his application, as he couldn't be arsed to apply in writing due to having played for them.

Re: Football's Black List
Has anyone got any figures showing how many non-white former players are qualified as coaches?

Re: Football's Black List
Totally racist.
Black players came to the game fairly recently.
Now the number is escalating rapidly.
The number that then go on to make good coaches is proportionate.
In 10 years time there will be many more. By virtue of ability not skin colour.

Well done to Andrew Cole in winning the Keith Alexander Award. Anyone know what it's awarded for?

Had a quick Google, about Keith Alexander, I've taken this from his Wiki.TheFamilyCat wrote:Well done to Andrew Cole in winning the Keith Alexander Award. Anyone know what it's awarded for?
He was the first full-time black professional manager in the Football League, as well as being the first black qualified referee in England,[2] and is considered by many to be a pioneer of the modern game.[2][3][4]
I'm guessing the award given to Cole is possibly some sort of life time achievement award or recognising something else he's done in sports?

You are young then.Claretmatt4 wrote:Disagree with you there on all three.
I started watching early 60s and the only black player I saw was Albert Johanneson, at Leeds.
The first black England player wasn't until 1978. That's fairly recent in my lifetime.
Given that they then progressed through their playing careers before deciding to become coaches we are probably up to the 1990s.
Out of that select number of black players not all would want to go into coaching.
If you then reduce again by the percentage who aren't up to the job. There are not many left.
I appreciate good men have not got jobs because of racism within the game but hopefully them days are fading into history.
this is all politics.

That's fairly sound reasoning Minnie.
Makes a bit sense looking at what you've said now.

Very well written article. No comment necessary whatsoever. Great understated journalism and completely the opposite of what the legion Daily Mail haters believe the paper is like.
