Home Attendances This Season

Post by Longside4evr » Wed Apr 05, 2017 4:25 pm

With an excellent crowed at the Turf last night many were saying it would be one of the lowest of the season nigh on twenty thousand again
The three to come West Brom United all ready sold out weeks ago and West Ham, will be full houses
In my eyes size for size we are one of the best and most fanatical fans to support a Football club anywhere in the world (unless your a Lincoln fan  )
This club is growing and i recon it wont be long if we progress like we are doing it wont be long before it gets to a stage were we have not seen at the club before a waiting list to become a season ticket holder yes that's right you have heard it first here :P
This club of ours is now in a new era, we have left our little town club label in the distance
We are growing in stature in every way, long may it continue I as a Burnley fan claret through and through see our football Club in a light that i have never seen before and am as happy with every last thing that has been done. Why would you not want a season ticket a club that as exceeded all my expectations and going on to other levels beyond my wildest dreams One happy Claret and thank you to my football club for bring it UTC

I presume the attendance figure included non-attending season ticket holders. I reckon the actual attendance was considerably less than 20k

Correct but it's the same at every club. West Ham give their attendances at 50,000+ every game but there's always loads of empty seats.

I know our policy has been "tickets sold" for a number of years now, but I am convinced that in our last Premier League season we didn't use the tickets sold figure, but the actual attendance. Just look at the "sold out" games in 14/15 where the attendances were all over the place to give you a clue. I think someone messed up for a while, which led to the embarrassing situation after the Birmingham game last season where the club had to make a statement.

All clubs have missing fans, and West Ham only recently had some of their actual crowds posted, which were well below the 55,000 stated as the official attendance. Arsenal, Man United have similar percentage of non-attending fans, and it's clear as day from pictures alone that our friends down the road have a huge issue with non-attenders.

I'm impressed with our sales figures though, and if we confirm safety and become a stable PL club in the coming couple of years I'd see an argument for a SLIGHT increase in capacity.

I to looking off the stream i was using looked very unusual for a following from Stoke City estimated around 1,500 could be over the mark their
If European football came back to Turf Moor then things might just need negotiating on capacity
I think it would be quite difficult to add on to exceeding structure but the stand to go would most certainly be the CFS
A new eight thousand seated stand with new dressing rooms as to be the way forward in the future a but at the moment it is not an issue
but the way we are building think we will see this in a few seasons time
And if you are not a season ticket holder you will not see another game until the stand is finished
And you can bet before its finished that the waiting time will be full of applications to every available seat before it opens

If that happens the ground will have to be extended. It needs upgrading in parts snyway so why not extend it?

The problem is so many middle of the road PL clubs have gone for ground improvements and extensions and increases in capacity in the past and then found that the money would have been far better spent on players. They have exited the PL and are rattling around in large grounds with loads of empty seat. And rather than just quote the obvious from 9 miles down the road look at Wolves and Charlton as other examples. It's a very tough decision to go for ground improvements and capacity increases based on "current position" as that can change so quickly.

i was looking at our averages for the 3 PL seasons.
09-10: 20654
14-15: 19131
16-17: 20427 before the Stoke game. so downslightly today.
Not bad all considered.
Stay up and we need to expand the CFS section for games with less away support.
I'm not into ground changes until we've consolidated.

Interesting that the attendance was down when the CF stand was away fans only.

The first thing we should do before expanding is switching sides with the away fans in the cfs. Gives us more home seats with no real investment needed. Use that as a trial.

We already give them the minimum or thereabouts I think. 10% 21k is 2100 and our side only has 1800.

The 2009/10 season it was a free season to all existing holders it was Kilby pledge on if we won promotion so that add to the home support and our first season back after so long would have further boosted it also away section was the full CF and more derby games was to be had so its no wonder it was higher
I think with three games left we will exceed its average and have a 19,000 average home support backing thats clearly on the up and long may it continue UTC

If your ground capacity is 30,000 or above then you must give away fans a minimum of 3000 tickets.
If your capacity is less than 30,000 then you have to give away fans 10% of your capacity.

That is for Premier League only.

Thats why Man Utd dont give 7500 tickets to visiting fans.
