Re: POTY vote link
So tough but for me there are 4 that are above the rest:
Heaton
Mee
Ward
Keane
I voted for Wardy as I don't think he gets the credit he deserves

Re: POTY vote link
I agree and voted Wardy on the same basis. Gonna have to vote for the other 3 now to even it up (just like Grandma does on the Xmas Factor).Claretmatt4 wrote:So tough but for me there are 4 that are above the rest:

Re: POTY vote link
On that basis I voted for the only one of the back 5 not to be mentioned above. I think he has been unsung.Claretmatt4 wrote:So tough but for me there are 4 that are above the rest:

Re: POTY vote link
Agree those have been the best four. But judging entirely on merit, for me, it has to be Keane (followed by Heaton, Mee and Ward in that order).Claretmatt4 wrote:So tough but for me there are 4 that are above the rest:

Voted for Michael Keane. Great to have an England starter in the team. Hope he's in the running for player of the season again next year.

Re: POTY vote link
All of the back 5 would be worthy winners, although Mee, Ward and Lowton were slow starters and have come on enormously.
I've voted for one of the back 5.

It is the year, rather than the season we are in.

Re: POTY vote link
The back five have been the basis of our success. The entire squad works hard. But the pressure they come under and time after time come out on top is remarkable.
It could easily have been any of them.
Lowton. Steady in attack, links up well. But defensively the best right back we have had in years. We don't miss Trippier. That is how good he is.
Ward. Almost a like for like of Lowton. Our record with them to playing is remarkable. Proper defenders. No nonsense.
Keane. To start a competetive England match and make your debut away to Germany while representing Burnley says all you need to know about him.
Mee. Brave. Committed. Strong. Easily our most improved player. Very likable and just goes about his business. The header against Reading all those years ago says everything about him and why he has got to where he is. Never lets us down.
But I went for Heaton. Behind them all he is the eyes, the ears the voice. The man who organises it all. To come from relegation to League One with Bristol City to become an England international is an amazing achievement. And his performances this season have been something else. The save At Southampton I thought would never be topped. Then he had THAT performance at Old Trafford. Countless vital clean sheets. And even more outstanding saves. He makes everything look simple. Our best keeper in my lifetime.

Re: POTY vote link
Tempted to vote Wardy as he deserves the accolades, but had to go Ben Mee for consistency and bravery.
Re: POTY vote link
Ward or Mee IMO

Re: POTY vote link
I think either Heaton or Keane will win it for being international class but I like Mee, Ward and Lowton so I have voted for one of them.

Not really. Ben Mee for me

Re: POTY vote link
It's difficult to look past the back 5. You could argue a case for any of them. Personal preference sends me to Keane though. The boy has come of age this year. A real class act.
