Re: swiss ramble
So on paper Leeds look to be a reasonably well run club - who would have thought that!

Re: swiss ramble
Some fascinating figures there....virtually all showing what an outstanding financial position we're in .
Re: swiss ramble
Thanks for posting that,Goalposts. A lot of interesting information there. I was surprised to see that we were Football League champions with only the tenth highest wage bill. That really is some achievement and a poke in the eye for some of the big spenders who finished below us.

Re: swiss ramble
Bloom himself has admitted Brighton have debts of £150 million hasn't he?
He said that was acceptable too.
I also heard Cardiffs was higher then Brightons, so some numbers are being moved around somewhere.
Still funny either way.

Brighton's debt should read £171m.

Re: swiss ramble
I think it probably depends which set of accounts are being used, as a lot will have group accounts, such as Brighton.

Re: swiss ramble
They won't be because they won't clear that debt anytime soon, just makes it easier to service.
Bloom will take a slice of the TV money, just like Davies was doing at Bolton.

Re: swiss ramble
On closer inspection there are some quite frightening figures on there, none moreso than Notts Forest. They have a wages to turnover ratio of 166% (£31m / £18m) and a debt of £71m. They are teetering on the brink of relegation to League One which would be a total disaster with those kind of figures.
A word of praise though for Preston. They clearly have a very tightly run ship and to say they are so close to the play-off places, they have done that with zero debt and a wages figure of £11m. Fair play to them.

Re: swiss ramble
Preston have been relying on Hemmings for a number of years now to keep them afloat.
Forest's debt was higher then that I thought I'd read somewhere else.

"Preston have been relying on Hemmings for a number of years now to keep them afloat."
Any cash injection though must have been by way of 'a gift', as opposed to a loan, there's no indication in the accounts of any money owing. Very similar scenario to our figures in the '13/'14 promotion season with the difference being that we had a few million pounds outstanding in director loans which were only repaid following promotion.
