Time is flying by....
Had an 'I'm feeling old' moment this morning on the drive to work.
Radio 2 were playing 'Respectable' by Mel and Kim from 1987...... that's 30 years ago!!!!. Back in 1987, hearing songs by Elvis like Jailhouse Rock / All shook up - The Everley Brothers 'Wake up Little Susie' etc just seemed ancient and from an era that was prehistoric compared to music in 1987 (Bon Jovi - Livin on a Prayer) (The Bangles - Walk like an Egyptian) - yet these were from 1957 (30 years earlier).
In 30 years time will we be reminiscing about 'Little Mix' 'Bruno Mars' or 'James Arthur'

No I won't be reminiscing about those 3.
I felt old when I watched the recent Oasis film and realised Definitely Maybe was released in 1994.

Dont.
30 years before Orient we had never been champions of england. 30 years later we had still not been promoted to the premier league.

1987 is the year I was born.
I am coming up to my 30th birthday. I feel both glad to have survived my 20's and both miserable at the prospect of ageing.
I guess it comes to us all.

I'm 44 next week. It's strange how some things seem to be like yesterday. I remember us going to war with Iraq in 1991. What it did remind me of, more than anything; was that I worked for that company I worked for at the time a year longer than my memory thought. I thought I left there in 1991, but it must have been 1992!

It's a conundrum Tim Noone. Where does time go? In my current job I see a lot of comings and goings. Just handed over keys to a French chap but half an hour ago. Only seems like yesterday that I started. He asked if I had an international adaptor, to which I replied 'Yes of course, the Italian couple who lived here left one'....then I remembered that was over two years ago. I'm buggered if I know where I put it

Time. Biggest fear. But at the same time there to make you make the most of things.
Wasting time is a crime we are all guilty of but know we shouldnt.

Time is only wasted if it's spent doing something you don't want to do, unless it facilitates the things that you do want to do.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Time. Biggest fear. But at the same time there to make you make the most of things.

I'm dropping the missus off for a night out and it's fish and chips, beer and PlayStation for me tonight. Love a bit of me time.

Re: Time is flying by....
I'm 48 but could pass as ten years younger. Some people say to me "why not fib and be 38, I would" My response is "no chance"
My earliest memories from childhood are of growing up in a house were 70's rock was eminating out of the speakers and if the radio was on it was stuff like Bowie or the Clash.
No way am I swapping that for Duran Duran and the crappy 80's.
