Second at the moment to Mignolet.

Re: Tom needs your votes
Can't believe Heatons save from Austins header doesn't make that list.

He could have had a top ten on his own.

Re: Tom needs your votes
Without doubt, for me, his best save this season, but the Man Utd one was more spectacular and got more publicity. The one at Southampton is as good a save as I've seen all season.claretdom wrote:Can't believe Heatons save from Austins header doesn't make that list.

Voted
I agree with Toms save at Saints being a better save. The double save against them at home was also top class. They should have had a vote to see which of Toms many outstanding saves should be nominated.
Mignolets is probably fresher in the mind for neutrals, either that or Scousers get up early.

Re: Tom needs your votes
I agree CT.
When I was young, Banks' save and Moore's tackle vs Brazil were played over and over again.
Tom's save was as good as Banks' and Mee probably has half a dozen tackles as good as Moore's this season alone.
I guess context is the thing that sets it aside. No one outside the 2 clubs thinks that Southampton - Burnley is at all significant. So no matter how great the save it just doesn't register. If instead of Zlatan the striker had been Shane Long that save vs Man U would not have been on the list.

Voted for Tom but have to say Mignolet's save was also excellent and he's just ahead of Tom.

I thought his save on Saturday from Negredo was better than any of them.

38% Heaton 41% Mignolet at the moment.

Re: Tom needs your votes
Voted (for Tom). Still 41% to 38% in Mignolet's favour
Re: Tom needs your votes
Heaton's is the best from that list by a mile.
Mignolet's is pretty standard, Pickford's is a good reaction but it's not far from his natural reach, Valdes is going that way anyway and the ball is again within a natural reach, Grant's is good but his technique of standing until the last second that close in was very risky.
Heaton runs from one post to the other, changing direction to get in front of the defender before making the perfect handball-style star jump. By far the best.

So they do. As do different computers or devices. Voted (x3 so far) Tom 41%% - Mignolet 39%A.Claret.Fan wrote:And, of course, different browsers enable extra votes.
I have a feeling, given our prowess at these sort of things that our Tom will win this hands down - or rather out as points of a star.

Re: Tom needs your votes
it's a shame they always use that photo.
It looks as though he's been lucky and toed it away, when in fact he moved his arm to block the ball and took the pain for that. Incredible save.

Voted earlier when it was 42% vs 38%. Any raise on that from a more recent voter?

Re: Tom needs your votes
Agreed, best save I've seen for a long while. It's up there with the Seaman save in the FA Cup (cant remember which team it was against)claretdom wrote:Can't believe Heatons save from Austins header doesn't make that list.
