Last week I noticed on the article regarding tickets for Everton that all fans are eligible for a £10 refund from virgin media.
However my thoughts at the time were that the process seems more hassle than its worth for the sake of a tenner.
What I thought though is that someone could collect the stubs in bulk from people from those who wish to donate their £10. We could then vote on a worthwhile local charity or charities to donate the amount to which at a rough guess could equate to up to £30k! Massive for a local charity.
I was thinking local hospices, grassroots football, shelters etc. It would be a very worthwhile effort from Clarets fans and of course another good news story about the club and the town.
I have been in touch with the club who in turn spoke with virgin. While the process was unable to change, Burnley have set up a donation page where all proceeds will be split between Pendleside Hospice and Burnley FC in the community. Two very worthwhile local causes.
Burnley are asking for any fans who wish to donate their £10 refund to do so at the following link: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundrai ... NTYSPLENTY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I don't know if I can make the game now but have got the ball rolling anyway. Appreciate that some will want to reclaim their £10 refund personally, and no problem with that. But for any that are happy to do so, your £10 will make a massive difference!
Hopefully the club will communicate this tomorrow ahead of The Everton game so there is more awareness.

The link says that you can donate from 15th April but a donation has already been made?

I think the perception is that people will donate from 15th when they can start to collect the £10s. It is definitely open to donate though as it was my donation that is showing and its definitely left my bank.tybfc wrote:The link says that you can donate from 15th April but a donation has already been made?
I didn't write the description or create the page but will message the guy at the club who set it up.

Just re read it. It is saying fans can collect their £10 from the 15th. But you can donate any time from now onwards.
