Sink, Keane or Gibson
Which one is the first target for the "big" clubs this summer? Would Keane want to go to a club knowing he wasn't their first option?

Define big clubs first.
Most of them will shop abroad anyway.

Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
Keane is a real prospect. And excellent with the ball at his feet as well as in the air.
But Van Dijk is the ultimate defender. I wasnt actually that impressed with him at The Turf. But overall this season he has been outstanding. He is so dominating as a defender, one that you really would fancy in a battle even between Lukaku or Costa.

Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
Dijk is the No.1 target for the top clubs, best centre half I've seen this season.
Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
I'd guess that Van Dijk will be the one that commands the biggest fee, he looks a little way ahead of the others at present and is definitely the strongest of that group.

Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
Dijk was the best defender in the league before his injury, he might have to prove he can come back with no long term effects. But the other two are performing well and will be seen with lots of potential.
Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
It's obvious what he means by big clubs

Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs or City?
Just wanted to check due to the "big" part of the question.
They'll be busy fighting over some foreign defender.
If they buy Keane I'm sure he wont be fussed to know he wasn't their first option.
Personally I think it will be Everton.

I thought Van Dijk was amazing in Mary Poppin's but not really performed since.

Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
Van Dijk is the top man but morning papers valuing Gibson at £30m is excellent news. He's no Michael Keane.

Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
I think it's pretty obvious that Van Dijk, Keane and Gibson is the correct order.
I have nagging doubts about a giant like Van Dijk's future re injuries. He hasn't had many but you often wonder about how joints recover..ie. knees and ankles. They tend to become more fragile rather than stronger into later 20s.
Central defence is highly dependent upon partnerships. Keane offers a pretty much injury free 12 months. He might not be the glamour pick but injury records are vital down the spine of a team. I would hope we re-sign MK rather than sign VVD!
In any case, Gibson being valued so highly can only be good news for us. MK deserves his shot at the big time. He has performed and behaved very professionally for us despite interest from elsewhere.

Van Dijk the best centre half i've seen in a long while, I said so after we played them too. He's a level above the other two right now.

Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
I read yesterday that a price of£55m for Dijk was thought to be what it would take..
not saying there is any truth in that but if there was then keane is not going for anything less that £35m

Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
Might not be that easy to make comparisons of valuations as there is the matter of how long is left on Keane's contract to take into account - is it only a year left ? That could be significant and reduce the fee by easily £10m.
On a level playing field and if all 3 players having at least a couple of years left on their contracts I'd say current valuations are :
Van Djyk - £60m (he is at least £10m better than Mustafi !)
Keane - £35m (£25m if he only has a year left)
Gibson - £20m to £25m
I do like Gibson and if we did get £35m for Keane I would be happy to spend £20m on Gibson. I think he would likely go to a bigger club than us though - "mid tier" more established Premier team such West Ham, Stoke, West Brom, Southampton etc. I know these teams are currently near us in the league but I'm talking about buying power for transfer fees and wages being at least 50% higher than Burnley will be for the next couple of years.

Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
Van Dijk and David Louis were both excellent on the Turf this season. That should be what MK aspires to.
Gibson looked very good against us the other day, and I would definitely like him here if needed, but I do think he is behind Keane at the moment.

Re: Sink, Keane or Gibson
Gibson will be in a relegated team, so first on the move.
