Re: Sheffield Utd
I wonder if we had a clause in the amount of the transfer fee we received for Lafferty, with Shef Utd winning the League?

Interesting - still think the best way to do it is 4 3 2 1 that no one has done, second best is ours 1 2 3 4

Re: Sheffield Utd
I thought about them ahead of the Lincoln game, I can remember going there for a cup game when Heath got sent off (I think!)
At that time it felt like the equivalent of Lincoln coming to Burnley.
Times have very much changed

One of my oldest away day memories as a claret. Remember it like yesterday. Great turnout that day. I was also at both games. The away game was a fantastic atmosphere and when Heath scored his `worldy` we went berserk. The replay was a huge disappointment and I believe we were undone by a Brian Deane hat-trick.cricketfieldclarets wrote:One of my oldest away day memories as a claret. Remember it like yesterday. I always remember bumping into loads of Sheff U fans at a Service station on their way to promotion to the Premier League (First Division?) when they were really doing well (but playing in a luminous lime away kit). I think they had a lethal partnership up front. Tony Agana and...?

Geez! It was Deane was it? Didn`t think they played tpgether. They were certainly prolific or seemed it. I remember Bull and Mut
destroying us once in the mid-80s. Bull was quite literally an animal.

Re: Sheffield Utd
After the 09 play off final my train to Leicester stopped at Bedford and we had to get a rail replacement coach, on it there was some Sheff Utd fan mouthing off about how hard done to they had been and how poor Burnley were - I like to think this 8 year punishment has been sufficient enough
