The Magic of Motown..

Post by hampsteadclaret » Mon Apr 17, 2017 11:51 am

A three hour Easter Monday special on BBC Radio 2 today, between 2.00pm - 5.00pm.

- minority interest listening I guess, but I know there are a few soul/Motown fans on here.

Happy Listening!

Motown wasn't a bad bar in Roppongi in Tokyo in the early 90s.

Best music of all time IMO.
Listening to Motown songs still make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up even after 50 years plus.
After my kids, family and Burnley FC Motown is my biggest love.

Just looked that up now Corky..sad indeed but she made 78 which isn't a bad knock.

- interesting back story there that Berry Gordy Jnr was on the verge of dumping Stevie Wonder as his voice was changing in puberty, but Sylvia Moy persuaded him otherwise, as she promised she would write SW some hits, including 'Uptight'.
