Jack Grealish

Post by Newcastleclaret93 » Mon Apr 17, 2017 7:33 pm

Bit of a left field choice, but does anyone else think jack grealish could be a could fit. Play just of Gray and provide that bit of guile we are looking for.

Yes, I do think Grealish could be a fit.
He has the talent but possibly not the temperament but Dyche could sort that out.
Don't think Villa will want him to leave and he might be on better wages
than we could offer so not likely he would come even if Dyche fancied him.

I don't think he's good enough for the Premier League. We can do better than him.

Nah, don't really understand why there's ever been any hype about him. Probably through making the headlines for the wrong reasons.

Not as good as Defour, so if we are looking to improve we have to set our sights higher than Grealish.

Tom heaton.... ben mee....michael keane...all pretty much unheard of when signed for us. Grealish and behrahino types self destruct and are touted as quality by agents. We dont need to be paying inflated wages for overated players.

Will Hughes, without ever looking a world beater, appeals to me.

The longer he stagnates at Derby the more I wonder whether there's a reason why no one has taken a punt on him.

Yep, I know you mean but the amateur scout in me, who has served me well over the years, tells me he has what it takes.

I've always been a fan, and I know he's still young, but it's odd that no one has ever come in for him.

Not odd really... off field antics would be an obvious reason not to sign him.

Sorry, I'm talking about Will Hughes now, unless he's also been involved in some off-field antics that I've not heard of.

You only notice grealish for his off field activity, crap hair and steve claridge approach to shin pads.

As for hughes. Dont believe the hype.

In some dictionaries Jack Grealish gets a mention in the definition of 'lightweight'.

He was not noticeable at notts county on the pitch and only kept showing up in newspapers at villa first cos he was pretty and English (see other overrated cases Wilshire johnny Wilkinson, and even janusaj who they were trying to claim as English when they thought he was good) And then second cos he is a tw@t.

Is this the same div that's been dicking about with 'hippy' crack?

No thanks, he's more interested in taking that stuff with his mates then he is about playing football.

Saw him today at Fulham. Scored a great goal but spent most of the game jogging aimlessly around despite the fact that Villa only had 10 men for most of the game

Looks a really good player with the kind of attributes we lack but I doubt he's the kind Dyche would go for or the kind who'd fancy playing in a side that doesn't see much possession and bypasses midfield.

Goodness keep well clear of him . He looked like he had it all then then he became a hero in his own mind and that was his down fall all on the back of one great game against Liverpool .

If Boro go down and if he could say fit would Gaston Ramirez be a good replacement for Defour, assuming he (Defour) moves on of course.

He was on £50-60k a week at Villa, so probably similar at Boro.
Probably rules us out.

Never seen the hype around Grealish. He appeared out of nowhere in a terrible Villa team and all of a sudden certain pundits were talking like he was the second coming of Scholes, despite seemingly never actually having done anything to merit it.

I don't rate Hughes, one of my mates from uni went to school with him and supposedly he's got a decent attitude to be fair. I think he's a bit of a luxury though if I'm honest, can't ever see him being influential in a side that doesn't retain the ball well.

In relation to Grealish, he needs to prove he's good enough before I'd be interested. A lot of young players start at Prem clubs with decent promise only to end up in the lower leagues, not many "turn" their careers the right way round.
