Sunderlands next four games are against Middlesbrough, Bournemouth & Swansea.Im_not_Robbie_Blake wrote:What meanest this?

I think he means that Sunderland realistically are already down and they have to play Middlesbrough Bournemouth and Swansea so would like them to beat those 3 especially Swansea.

Bournemouth Middlesbrough offer no threat. So no. There could do us a favour against the swans if Utd don't do 1 first.

Why have you omitted to mention that they also play Hull at Hull. Do you think Hull are safe already??mkmel wrote:I think he means that Sunderland realistically are already down and they have to play Middlesbrough Bournemouth and Swansea so would like them to beat those 3 especially Swansea.

Re: Do we start supporting Sunderland now?
When Sunderland saw that run in at the beginning of the season they must have figured they'd be safe, with the idea they pick lots of points up in those games. Just 6, 4 or 2 will do v Hull and Swansea.
Re: Do we start supporting Sunderland now?
I'm supporting any team who is playing Swansea or Hull.

We need to be ready to start taking care of business ourselves instead of relying on rival teams to do us a "favour".
I am fully expecting Big Sam to name a much changed team against Tottenham knowing that it is far more important to take points off Burnley who are in free fall at present. Big Sam knows 3 points off us and they are all but safe.

Re: Do we start supporting Sunderland now?
That's fine until they screw up against us.
Re: Do we start supporting Sunderland now?
If Sunderland get nothing from these 2 games then their game with Swansea becomes irrelevant. We need Sunderland to be going into that game knowing that beating Swansea will give them a chance of catching them.Jakubclaret wrote:Bournemouth Middlesbrough offer no threat. Re: Do we start supporting Sunderland now?
Yeah Sunderland have 2 games in hand on both Swansea and Hull. So they really need to be winning those 2 games in hand to be a threat to Swansea/Hull. Therefore, we must be wanting Sunderland to win tonight. A draw, and the match vs Swansea will unlikely be of significance to Sunderland, which isn't what we want.Tinribs wrote:If Sunderland get nothing from these 2 games then their game with Swansea becomes irrelevant. We need Sunderland to be going into that game knowing that beating Swansea will give them a chance of catching them.
But as KentonClaret says, if we can't pick up 1-2 more points, it's a poor do.
Re: Do we start supporting Sunderland now?
But then again, once we'd got relegated two years ago we picked up seven points from our last three matches when the pressure was off. Sunderland might play without pressure.FactualFrank wrote:Yeah Sunderland have 2 games in hand on both Swansea and Hull. I fully agree. We have a lot of experienced players who can handle the pressure and should take us over the line.

Re: Do we start supporting Sunderland now?
it's an omission, nil desperandum. Strengthens the case fully. And I agree with subsequent comments regarding taking care of business ourselves, but on the run we're on, it might come to some help from them.nil_desperandum wrote:Why have you omitted to mention that they also play Hull at Hull. Aye maybe but definitely will not be buying a shirt. As someone already said it=f they beat Swansea good result for us, other two not bothered as Boro no chance of staying up.NRC wrote:Middlesbrough

Re: Do we start supporting Sunderland now?
The Middlesbrough Sunderland game is pretty irrelevant for us. Even if Boro win they have to play Man City, Chelsea, Southampton and Liverpool and gain 6 points in the first of those two to stand a chance of catching Hull, assuming they don't win another point.
But yes, Sunderland for 12 points from the next four games please.
