They have robbed a ground at least from the taxpayer.

I'm not, but seeing them relegated with that nice shiny ground would be effing hilarious.

From the looks of it, it involves the transfers involving French players because the French police have also carried out raids.

Interesting, maybe a suitable punishment if guilty, would be to swap their place in the league with Sheffield. Justice!

Interesting too that "Joe Bloggs" also played for a team in the South of France with which both WHU and NUFC have recently had player dealings and which has also apparently been raided today.

BBC reporting that HMRC is investigating income tax and national insurance fraud.

"The BBC understands the suspected income tax and National Insurance fraud amounts to £5m."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-39716009" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

All footballers and all football teams should ensure that they pay all the tax due.

It would be speculation to suggest that as there have also been investigations in France, that the fraud results from possible tax evasion on the payments to one or more footballers who have played for both Newcastle and West Ham - and have a French connection.

HMRC are also at Chelsea's offices as part of the probe, although they weren't raided.

I think with the push to ensure businesses such as Costa coffee etc pay their due tax football and footballers will be increasingly targeted and rightly so.
