Best team selection and line-up for survival?

Post by Mala591 » Wed Apr 26, 2017 12:39 pm

........................Heaton
Lowton.......Keane...Mee.......Ward
.............Barton........Westwood
...Hendrick.......Defour.........Brady
........................Gray

This would be my alternative to our usual 4-4-2

Definitely worth trying in training don't you think?

Nope. Not a team in the league that regularly lines up with a front 4 that exclusively want to run away from the ball and face the opposition's goal, rather than being comfortable accepting the ball with their back to goal or at least on the half turn. And that central midfield 3 is both lacking in physical presence and pace. It would be steamrollered by most of the midfields in the league.

The midfield is a carefully considered 'staggered' five formation (no jokes about the word staggered please).

ps - claretspice are you really SD?

Barton no longer a Burnley player essentially, so that line up isn't going to happen :(

Barton going now necessitates a 3 man central midfield.

Amended due to the ridiculous Barton suspension.

Not without risk I agree but a definite alternative to our predictable 4-4-2

Well if we want points to stay up a 10-0-0 formation would guarantee it.
