Vexit - Venky's Out Party
Looks like the horse botherer's have found yet another way to keep us royally entertained - the Venky's Out Party.
'there is no bigger local issue than the state of our proud town's club'
I really hope they get this together.

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
I actually think this is a good idea. Probably the first good idea they have had in their whole lives. The publicity they would get if they actually succeeded in getting someone elected would be enormous.

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
So they want someone to stand in Parliament and raise this issue?
What's Jack Straw up to nowadays, I think he'd be ideal for this job.

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
Brilliant....wonder who'll get the most votes, them or the Monster Raving Loonies?
(If they're standing.)
Really hope this comes off, be hilarious.
I remember Jolly Jack Straw welcoming the V's with open arms.
Wonder what's changed his mind?

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
It certainly has potential but needs to be done correctly. Hitherto this has been a problem for them, so I am not holding my breath. They need a high profile person to stand. Is there one, an ex footballer or someone who is known nationally.
For instance, if it was Burnley and not Blackburn I would be looking at someone like Campbell to stand for us. That is the sort of figure that would interest the national press.

Problem with that is no one wants to admit to being a Rovers fan, Corky.

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
Someone on there has pointed out that Jack Straw, who was a well known politician with a top job, was basically ignored when he raised the issue in Parliament.
Are they hoping someone less well known will do a better job?

What about the bloke from the advert for their shirts.TheFamilyCat wrote:Abbey would be a good shout - I reckon the power could go hilariously to his head.
Birdy?
Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
Someone high profile would be exactly what they don't want. Jack Straw was already a political figure and that is why he was ignored on this issue. The publicity would come from the fact that an ordinary man off the street had been elected, in spite of the political establishment, on the single issue of Venkys Out. The media would love it.

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
You'd have thought that this week, with the high profile raids on Newcastle and West ham, it would have been the perfect time to release "the dossier".
You'd almost think that there isn't anything in it the way its being kept under wraps.
I wonder if its got written on it "Only open if we are in League Two"?

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
"Essentially a single issue party, our aim is to have an elected member who can lobby for change in the governance of Football, and attempt to safeguard Blackburn Rovers FC for years to come."
Call me old fashioned but I like my local MP to stand for more than a single issue. What about housing, the economy, education, the state of our roads (always one to debate with the locals!) and the future of the town etc etc? I genuinely applaud the attempt to raise the profile of their Venkys Out campaign but anyone with a shred of common sense, however difficult that might be to find in Blackburn, surely wouldn't vote for a party who's entire existence is based around removing the owners of their local football club. Let's say they get in and succeed in ousting the naughty Indians; what then?!

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
This is actually a good idea and they need to work with the Football Supporters Trust to help them put together a decently worded, well thought out manifesto.
They could tie the whole campaign into something much bigger and look at he role of fans and fan groups in football generally.

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
How I read it they are going for a single policy party so the manifesto will probably be "We want Venkys out" and that's about it, absolute none starter they won't get the support it needs to get in local government, even if they did it won't make any difference they are going t1ts up and it will take the second coming of Christ to stop it hopefully.BurnleyPaul wrote:This is actually a good idea and they need to work with the Football Supporters Trust to help them put together a decently worded, well thought out manifesto.

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
They still haven't grasped the fact that Venkys have done nothing wrong, legally speaking. They've made mistakes course, but they are a bunch of very rich chicken farmers after all. Parliament or the FA, can't legislate against people making errors of judgement.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, there were very few if any, bastards complaining about them when they took over.

A sure way of losing your £500 deposit.
You could get 100 season tickets for that sort of money.

My first thought looking at the thread title is that we could have a joint party, Venky's Out and Bastards go down.

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
I too would vote for abbey. Not sure how it would work though as all his comments tend to be online abusing people. He was confronted recently at ewood by a fellow blackburn fan after abusing another as he made his way into the ground and seems to have vanished. Probably need a backbone to grow first before he stood.
Still you can imagine him public speaking. Every question asked the bellend would just dribble venkys out but at least he could give his King Venky Hater pin badge another airing.

It's Blackburn mate. Pardon the pun but those horses have long since bolted.jlup1980 wrote: Call me old fashioned but I like my local MP to stand for more than a single issue. Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
They reckon they'll get a lot of publicity, but they're wrong. There are 650 seats, and most of them will have a fringe / lunatic / single interest candidate that will get very few votes. VOP will be just one more of those.
Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
Load of balls, they get what 9000 home fans? Still should be easy for them to vote it is how they sign their benefits form X.
As an aside it should be a VD party we have.

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
Venkys Down Party just in case I have caused confusion

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
The biggest single problem with this is will the voter's carers allow them to vote1
If they are successful we would truly have the first official " useless Barteward" MP!

Hmmm I think the great unwashed in the hovels of BBurn are more concerned with the benefits cap and the clampdown on fictitious disability claims.

Re: Vexit - Venky's Out Party
I hope the Venkys Out Party win the seat in Blackburn by a landslide. Their is no better way to turn an entire town against a single issue than a single issue party and its cause.
