10 clean sheets

Post by cricketfieldclarets » Sun Apr 30, 2017 12:35 pm

Yesterday was our tenth clean sheet in the premier league. An average of almost 1 in 3 for Heaton. That is some statistic especially for our club.

Puts Heaton 5th in The Premier League. Ahead of Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool and co.

A credit to Heaton, the entire back 5 who have been our most consistent and resolute in years, the framework and no doubt Mercer, Robinson and Pope who all play a part too!

It is not like he hasnt had anything to do either - he has made the most saves by some distance.

Fantastic effort.

Hope we have him for the next 5+ years!

Agree, credit all around really. Huge credit to Dyche. I have a feeling that most of our defenders wouldn't be as good at other clubs and that's down to how he sets us up. We play as a team and we're very organised. Read something recently about our shot-blocking abilities which obviously helps.

How many did he concede at bristol? 87 in a season. Hes improved immesaurably here. Great work by our scouts to snap him up.

Has improved even more since england too.

Was that our first 'double' in the Premier League, yesterday then?

Can't be arsed to look it up.

We also had 10 clean sheets in 2014/15 but three of those were in our last three fixtures. The big difference though is the fact that we have failed to score in 12 matches this season, whereas in 2014/15 we failed to score in 18 matches.
Compare those stats to 2009/2010 when we had 3 clean sheets and failed to score in 13 matches.

Surprisingly, in 2014/15 we only conceded 53 goals and we have conceded 49 so far this season.
