Mighty Clarets versus Boom Boom Baggie Baggie

Post by IanMcL » Sat May 06, 2017 1:12 am

Big day for our heroes, as 3 points would secure our presence at the top table, for another season, even though our missiles are non nuclear.

I am off early, to the match, so leave you all in the capable hands of Madge, to stir you into active support for the Mighty Clarets.

Up the Clarets

Heading for Arcade. That's Galicia not the pinball and slots emporium.
Hoping to be with you all for KO but if not no negativity allowed.
No praying for an Everton win, although we'd be grateful if they could.
We are Burnley and as SD reminds us we control what we can control. So go out and win boys. 1-0 will do, 3-0 would be better for the ticker.

Good morning everyone. I have a really good feeling about today which means that we'll probably lose :P

Anyway, let's hope for mathematical safety today and hopefully 3 points to move further up the table :)

Any team news yet ? I'll feel a lot happier knowing Keane or Mee is playing alongside Tark.

Would be great if we can make ourselves safe with a win rather than depending on Swansea not winning :)

Copy/paste from BBC website:

Michael O'Dwyer: Beware going on holiday early, Palace, Burnley, Watford, Stoke and Leicester. I can see Hull and the Swans winning all their remaining games.

3 points for Burnley this afternoon and Michael O'D will have a shorter list of clubs he warns to "beware..."

I know Sean rates Kevin Long - but I think I would be more comfortable with 5 in midfield today - At least it looks like the traditional pairing of stopper and player in centre of defence - though last week Keane and Tarks were fabulous.

Draw the minimum requirement - but would love the win - IDWT - UTC

Hi Chester, are you proposing that James Tarkowski will be playing CM?

There were a few who weren't excited when the team was announced last week. Looking forward to kick-off and enjoying the game.

Long has waited (excuse the non intended pun) a long time for his opportunity, he has to take it with both hands imho

Paul - absolutely not in CM for Tarks - with you on looking forward to the game

can't forget what Pulis does to us though (the man has the hex on us) I think they will just sit and wait and neither of us really do possession. So, much like last week the team with the possession tends to lose these types of games. Which is why I thought of 5 in midfield, Defour would be useful on the possession front in this game.

Must stress that Sean knows more than me though - hoping for a good afternoon

Only just caught up with the team news. If ever there was a side for Kevin Long to play against it's these monsters

re: an earlier post about Pulis having the hex on us. The stats were put up sometime back and it's a myth. We pretty much break even.
