Football League will NOT reopen investigation into Rovers ownership

Post by Sidney1st » Sun May 07, 2017 11:21 am

Venkys haven't broken any football league rules during their ownership of Rovers, according to a statement read out by Stelling on SSN.

Allardyce in his autobiography last year provided new insight to the period around his sacking by saying it was clear from the start: 'Anderson was going to have a big say in the running of the club'. Anderson had summoned Allardyce to London early in Venky's tenure to present him with a list of players Anderson wanted Allardyce to sign. Allardyce declined.
Anderson said Rovers' owners signed off all decisions, and they did. For example, they sanctioned the signing of young striker Ruben Rochina for £400,000, with £1.65m paid to his agent, Manuel Salamanca Ferrer. Anderson admitted working on the deal but said he never received a penny.

Well that makes shocking reading - the incompetence is phenomenal - just glad it is not us - also very glad the effort to source funding/shareholders in Russia a few years back amounted to nothing - sounds trite but the longer our major shareholders are local people who have been lifelong fans the better

And yet, despite all the criticism flying their way, Venky's have still invested close on £100 million into the club.

And all of that interest-free. Even our directors earned 6.5% on their loans in those days several seasons ago when we actually needed some financial assistance.

Fair enough they've made some stupid decisions, or at least the third parties that they allowed to run the club have, but without that financial input Blackburn would have disappeared before today.

Re the MOS report. The house Garry Neville sold to the Venky's for £6m, was 1 he owned in Burnley Wood.

The Venkys have done nothing wrong, apart from putting their trust in a bunch of crooks.
The problem for most honest people is they tend to be over trusting, crooks don't trust anybody. I think once that trust was broken they've been left in a situation that they can't fix for themselves, but they don't want to make the same mistake twice.

Next year is going to be interesting. IF they don't come up with a solution it could be another relegation battle.
