Lest we forget....
I was visiting a graveyard in bingley today, and my mate pointed to two gravestones one containing the remains of two twelve year old boys. The other their 40 year old father. The date 11th May 1985. I guessed it to be the valley parade fire Bradford .which indeed it was. They died together... Along with lots of other men women and young children that day. I was looking for a family plot, but stumbled across theirs. R.I.P to them all and sincere condolences to their families who never saw them return home again.

I was a firefighter at the time but the videos of the tragedy were horrendous and led to some good, through regulation.
RIP to them all.
RIP to them all.

The day after I got married. Can never forget those horrific pictures on the telly, and just hoping everyone had got out. Sadly it wasn't to be.
Bless em all

They will have been the Ormondroyds - there were three or four families that lost dads and kids.

Fire scares the **** out of me. The two videos i've see than haunt me the most are both fire videos. The Bradford stadium fire's one of them, the Station Nightclub fire is the other. Don't watch it.minnieclaret wrote:I was a firefighter at the time but the videos of the tragedy were horrendous and led to some good, through regulation.

I've also got a scared left hand because of fire.
Seriously, fire can go **** itself.

Im sure lots on here will remember leaving at full time down the ginnels steep steps at the back of the beehole end passed the stinking toilets... the crush down there was so scary at times how an ibrox type disaster didnt happen was more luck than good fortune! I feel pretty safe regards football these days within the stadiums, the stewarding on the exit gates, wasnt an option at bradford and that poor lad his kids and others were trapped with no chance of escape.rip.

I know a Bradford Ormondroyd fan but never asked or wanted to ask if any relation. Terrible.ClaretTony wrote:They will have been the Ormondroyds - there were three or four families that lost dads and kids.
