Spare that man

Post by davemanu2000 » Mon May 08, 2017 8:20 am

The man in question is Owen Coyle .He made a name in Burnley . I dare say he did pretty well and fans were fond of him . He tried to climb the ladder of fame positively manufactured at the expense of Burnley to other shores which he thought to be greener . He dreamt of a bigger club ,more fans and success assured . It turned topsy turvy and in to his great disillusion he was veered and replaced . For some time he was unemployed when suddenly Blackbone appointed him as Manager . Surely the Board of the club might be cursing when their choice fell on him .
Owen Coyle with great aptitude with a sharp scissor of precision cut the wings and tail and as such the poor bird (Blackbone) could not fly any longer .The next job may be a poulterer .(One who sells poultry).
i would say to spare him as we have better things to do in future .Ie TO UP THE CLARETS .

The quote of the weekend, dave, absolutely brilliant.

Thank you.

Dave I have never responded to one of your posts before but your final sentence is spot on. We do indeed have better things to do in the future than bother about yesterdays man Owen Coyle.

He was however one of the managers who helped us on our way to the present even if he took us two steps forwards and one back.
Without him at the helm in 2008-09, would we be where we are today?

Could we buy one of those big gnome statues from ASDA and paint it blue and white, stick a picture of his face on it and put in front of the foresters or the park view for the west ham match?

Now that we are staying in PL , we should evaluate the present available squad and the our young players who may get pL. Money has always been a scarce commodity for us . We cannot compete with big clubs . As usual we shall have to dig from lower divisions clubs ormay consider to recruits from among the rejects of PL clubs . The task is herculean but still we shall have to dive even though we do not know the depth .
Sean is a wise Manager . He will use his wisdom to get best affordable players forus next season .

Got us to the Premier league playing great football and had a big hand in Bastards relegation this season! I think he has redressed the balance somewhat, thanks Owen!

Could it be that he would get a round of applause should he appear for the half time draw against West ham?

Did anybody ever spot that sign at one of the Wrestlemanias that said "Coyle is God"? First of all, how did a Burnley supporter get into the front row? Second of all, how much do you rue holding up that sign?

Elevating man to the level of God is unethical .People may become good samaritans and involve themselves in saintly work .With Burnley Coyle was lucky as the club has always been managed in a salubrious climate with respect and dignity . To whatever we belonged to , we always followed the policy traced by our elders and past managers .
The club fitted to him like a glove .Coyle became too ambitious ,for bigger clubs with plenty of money to spend , bigger number of fans etc .It was pure dishonesty on his part and some others who followed him . We were at a lurch to find replacements . Positively that disrupted our performances and we had to pay in term of relegation .
He has paid for his sins . Fans displayed flags of "traitor" on his face .Let's forgive him .
