Open top bus celebration planned
Not for us unfortunately....but for Brighton who only finished second in the Championship (it will be on Sunday). Surely our team of heroes deserve something like that for this season's performance. What they achieved this time around was arguably better than winning the Championship last season.

Not for me, great achievement but there's no way we should have that for finishing mid to low end of the table.

Lap of honour at the end of the season will do for me. We'd be a laughing stock if we had an open top bus celebration for staying up.Man of Kent wrote:Not for us unfortunately....but for Brighton who only finished second in the Championship (it will be on Sunday). Re: Open top bus celebration planned
Celebrating 2nd place and the promotion it guarantees isn't allowed according to that bunch of bell ends down the road
I'm not sure an open top bus celebration for avoiding relegation is the best idea in the world though.
No one else does it that I'm aware of and we'd look more then a little daft if we had one.

Open top bus parade for surviving in a league? No. Cause you set a precedent. If we do it this season when do we stop?

That'd be ridiculous

It's on the same road as having a minutes applause during matches for every Burnley fan that dies.

Re: Open top bus celebration planned
no, you dont mark survival by an open top bus tour. They are meant for teams that win something only.
That said, it is a huge acheivement, far more significant than for most other teams in this division.
Needs something done at the Turf to let fans celebrate and show their appreciation for a job massively well done.
bus tours are crap even for runners up in cups, its like announcing "Yoo-hoo, here we are, we lost "

With Rovers in mind, we could hold a minute's flatulence. Followed by a rousing chorus of "There's only one Owen Coyle".cricketfieldclarets wrote:A minute silence for rovers demise?

Applause on minutes 18 & 75 with accompanying whooping and hollering at the West Ham game.
Like the Venkys protest but with much more glee.

I have never got that minutes applauding for someone who has died Bot,the only tribute someone's death should get is a minutes silence.Bin Ont Turf wrote:It's on the same road as having a minutes applause during matches for every Burnley fan that dies.
Re: Open top bus celebration planned
Let's play a match - cheer when the players come out, cheer during the game, cheer at the end, and then have a lap of honour when we can cheer. That should do it!Wile E Coyote wrote:Needs something done at the Turf to let fans celebrate and show their appreciation for a job massively well done.

Re: Open top bus celebration planned
I think Brighton had a bus tour when they got promoted to Div 1 (the top flight then) last time round in 1979. That was probably ok as they had never made it to the top before. I'm sure if Burton had finished second a bus ride would seem fine.
Doesn't feel right this time though given that they blew the championship.

Bradford did have an open top parade when they escaped relegation. They were relegated the following year and have never been back since. It is a no from me.

Though to be fair, when the bus set off it had a roof on it.
