Palace to go down

Post by cutsy123 » Thu May 11, 2017 10:14 am

Sakho ruled out for remaining games.

He's the only decent defender they have, with a tough run in

Its a big ask to expect a Big Sam side who he has spent all week training "to make sure Hull score none" to actually concede.

All they need is a point, and I think they will get it.

Hull will effectively be down by 2pm on Sunday. Swansea to win at Sunderland on Saturday then Hull to get no more then a point at Palace on Sunday.

If Hull play like they did against Sunderland last week Palace can play Connor Wickham on his own at centre half and they will keep a clean sheet.

Palace v Hull, rather them than me. I'll have my feet up. :)

I think if Hull are going to repair last weeks damage they'll need to win this. Swans play Sunderland so a Palace win could see Hull relegated at FT.

I'd still like Swansea to go - I can still see the disrespectful Paul Clement fist pumping in front of the Burnley fans

I want Swansea to stay, they'll almost certainly keep Clement if they do and long term I reckon that will see them struggle again next year.

I want Hull to go down so we can poach 2 or 3 of their players.

Oh and I also want Crystal Palace to go down 'cos of Allardyce and all of the multi millions they've spent.

So either of those two will do for me.

Hull would have to beat Spurs - at home - as well as Beat Palace away.

I actually think they're more likely to beat Spurs than Palace. It'll be a dead rubber for Spurs by then.

Recent History suggest Spurs won't put much of a fight up on the last game when nothing to play for. Newcastle tubbed them last year and we beat them 4-2 under Laws.
The Palace game is the hard one for them, but if they go all out to win and Palace for the draw then who knows?

I hope so, I had a bet on Sun'land, Boro, Palace to be the relegated teams some time ago (+ I'm not a fan of Parish or BFS).
It's unlikely they'll go down but if Hull get the 3 points there this weekend and Swans get a result at Sunderland they will be bricking it. A draw against Hull would suit them but they cant really "shut up shop" because their defence is so depleted & poor at the moment.
It's going to be an interesting set of games down the bottom of the Prem this weekend, my heart is really thankful that we're not involved.

If Hull win on Sun then Watford will be feeling the heat if they get beat by Everton on Friday. They have Everton away, Chelsea away and a home home against Man City. I can't see them picking up another point, and the goal difference taking a hammering.

Watford have a +12 GD on Hull. They aren't going going to ship enough goals in three matches. An impossible task. They, like us aren't even considered relegation candidates by the bookies.

And if Hull win then Palace MUST beat Man U. at Old Trafford as they are two points behind Watford.

The true mathematical odds on Watford going down must surely be astronomical.

I agree with Spijed. Watford are in poor shape & may get no more points given their remaining fixtures. Their last win, 4 games ago, 1-0 home to Swansea has almost certainly seen them through.

As I say, if results go against them this weekend then this comes into play. Hull would have to win their two games, so the GD would be down to POTENTIALLY +10, maybe lower. Which ever way, you've got to think that Watford won't be picking up anymore points and losing some GD as it goes on. I can't see them finishing above us.

Swansea should pick up 3 points against Sunderland. That would take them to 38.

Should Hull beat Crystal Palace and that would give them 37, but I can't see them getting anything form Tottenham.

Palace might beat Hull or draw, either way they are safe. Looks like Hull on down to me.

If we had the same fixtures and a +12 GD it would be fairly easy for us to make sure we wouldn't ship enough goals.

I wouldn't even give a second thought regarding relegation.

Celebrating winning against a (then) relegation rival in the last minute is hardly disrespectful. As much as I don't like clement can't have a do at him for this. Its hardly Steve Davis.

Would be hilarious if Fat Sam's Palace went down after losing successive home games to is and Hull, the teams with (I think) the worst away records in the league.

Tend to agree here. If we turned the game around and scored the winning goal in the last minute and SD fist pumped in front of their fans I doubt we'd be upset by it.

As regards relegation I haven't a clue who'll go down between Swansea, Hull and Palace after recent results. All I can say is it will be one of those three. I think the rest are safe.

A lot of football fans seem to be very precious about opposition players and managers showing some emotion.

It's fine to spend 90 minutes hurling abuse at a player but if he gestures at the fans it disgraceful and he could have incited a riot, should be banned, etc.

Getting upset (and holding a grudge) about an opposition manager celebrating an injury time winner against a relegation rival by pumping his fist is pretty feeble.

Crystal Palace have been appalling in their last three matches (yes, they were awful against us). I can't see them scoring again in their remaining matches. Their current defensive line is clueless too. They are heading for the drop, not Hull.

It's in our interests for Swansea to drop as they will be better next season than Hull.

They have good players in Sigurddson, Llorente, Fer etc and with a decent defence they will compete better next time out.

Much as i'd like to see the arch weasel Allardyce relegated i can't see it happening.

I've been doing a few score predictions recently involving clubs in the relegation scramble, and I've got a 100% record since I started.
This weekend I had Swansea winning, Hull and Palace drawing, So bye-bye Hull, I think

Only problem with Palace is they are away at UTD last day - that is the same UTD who need to win the Europa League cup 3 days later to get into the champions league next season - (this is a must for utd as they will lose £25m in Kit sponsorship next season if they fail to qualify for the Champions League) Sam knows this so can hedge his bets

Hull down IMO

I like Sam and what he has done keeping sides up like he has, shows some true skill in continuing to manage it with teams that look like they are on their way down, so I'm with Sam on CP staying up, think they have won some matches I gave them no chance and lost some where I thought they would win or at a minimum draw. Wont be long and we will all know :)

Watford will get something at goodison i fancy.

Siggurdsson could be off to everton if they lose barkley. Perfect ready made replacement. Koeman wants instant success.

I think swansea will struggle regardless next season whereas hull with silva in from the start could do well. The sunderland game was a real blow for them.

But I fear allerdyce is worried. Hes already said they will defend for ab ugly nil nil if they have to. Going i to a game with that attitude even under big sam is a recipe for disaster imo. Especially when their defence is in as bad a shape as it is if i was sam I would be going at hull as their strength is going forwards ironically.
