Playing in yellow tomorrow
Not sure why, but according to the Premier League we are playing in the yellow kit tomorrow.

It's probably because Boyd can see Grey better in yellow.

The players obviously feel good about that yellow kit. 3 points it is!
Re: Playing in yellow tomorrow
Given who is wearing it I'd imagine this is from the 70s, but I don't remember us playing in this at all. I can remember us in white shirts and black shorts at the time. Was it a third strip?

No was the main away strip in 1973/74 & 1974/75 before being replaced with our first ever yellow kit.AndrewJB wrote:Given who is wearing it I'd imagine this is from the 70s, but I don't remember us playing in this at all. We wore it for the first time at Sheffield United on the opening day of the season but with white shorts and claret socks, but after that it was what you see with the socks the same colour as the shirt. We memorably wore it when we won 4-1 at Leeds and we also wore it once at home in the FA Cup 6th round against Wrexham.
It was my favourite away kit.
Re: Playing in yellow tomorrow
It didn't work at west ham!
Re: Playing in yellow tomorrow
That's the last of the blue kit then unless it's retained as 3rd kit next season. Has it overtaken the green and black as our unluckiest away kit (we at least won it that on an occasion)?
The first choice navy shorts and socks have also proven pointless too.

Re: Playing in yellow tomorrow
The shorts and socks proved to be a big mistake - we've worn all sky blue as often as possible. We did get a point at Old Trafford wearing it though.burnmark wrote:That's the last of the blue kit then unless it's retained as 3rd kit next season. Re: Playing in yellow tomorrow
I have always advocated the yellow strip - it was mentioned on here recently that it is the most instantly recognised colour.
High visibility clothing is yellow and when milliseconds are involved in sport it proves its worth. Furthermore, I find it an attractive kit when combined with claret.

I'm sure we played in all sky blue at Old Trafford this season. Only worn the dark shirts and socks at Accrington and Stoke, I think.ClaretTony wrote:The shorts and socks proved to be a big mistake - we've worn all sky blue as often as possible. We did get a point at Old Trafford wearing it though.

Was it Stoke? I thought we'd only worn those socks and shorts once in the Premier League.Silkyskills1 wrote:I'm sure we played in all sky blue at Old Trafford this season. Only worn the dark shirts and socks at Accrington and Stoke, I think.

Re: Playing in yellow tomorrow
I think someone might have misinterpreted that we got a point at Old Trafford wearing it. I meant the shirt, as opposed to wearing yellow and that being the biggest of the three draws we got away wearing it.
