The Best Dreams Begin With 'B'
When Burnley had its own Building Society, I remember it having a very active marketing team that used to commission some great adverts and even music tracks such as this one - "The Best Dreams (Begin with B)". I thought it was an urban myth that it was written by Salman Rushdie but comments on YouTube suggest it really was. It's a bit cheesy but not too bad and it probably sums up how many people on this board are feeling after this season. Sorry if this information has been shared on here before.

I've got a copy of the 45 (No urban myth by the way Salman peaked early on) along with a copy of the Notsensibles classic. Eat your heart out.

We saved for a house deposit at Burnley Building Society and were given a copy of 'The Best Dream Begin With B'. I didn't realise till years later when I found it a,ones a pile of 45s that it was written by Salman Rushdie.

Re: The Best Dreams Begin With 'B'
Still got a copy - it was produced to sound "Northern Soul-like", with vocals by George Chandler? on the A side and the instrumental version on the B. Ran as a TV ad for a few months.I always accepted the Salman Rushdie story. Chandler was black and lead singer with The Olympic Runners, a London group who had a couple of minor hits, methinks. His voice was very good.
