The game on next sunday is worth £12 million to the club so a win is the thing needed so we need to be the 12th 13 th 14 th in fact we need to be £15,000 people singing the clarets to victory.

No, experimentation is more important than £12m.

Re: £12 million pound game
I wouldnt go so far to call it a £12m game as we could end up with the same amount of money whether we win or lose.
Depending on all other permutations there could be a swing up £12m in terms of prize money we receive so definitely not a time to take our foot off the pedal

Re: £12 million pound game
That sort of cash could come in very handy for next season's top ten finish. Seriously.

Re: £12 million pound game
Realistically there is only around £10m difference between our lowest possible place, 17th, and our best position, 12th. We could go level points with Leicester but they have a much better goal difference.
Now we are safe and have achieved our highest Premier League position, points tally, number of wins and clean sheets I am hoping we can go on to finish with our usual last-game winning style.

Er if we win we will go above West Ham at least so we will definitely win more money with a final victory.Devils_Advocate wrote:I wouldnt go so far to call it a £12m game as we could end up with the same amount of money whether we win or lose.

Re: £12 million pound game
So a win next week against West Ham will net us a tleast 2m more
than we could get if we end up where we are at present.
That could rise by another 4m if both Stoke and Palace don't lose.
So it's a 2m pound game (possibly 6m) but also possibly 4m less
if we lose and Swansea win and Watford get a point
than we could get if we end up where we are at present.

Re: £12 million pound game

No, bank the cash and buy another quality player. Sean can experiment on the training ground all summer.TheFamilyCat wrote:No, experimentation is more important than £12m.

I wonder if Keane will play or will we continue to be lied too?

Re: £12 million pound game
So winning next week's 'dead rubber' COULD be more in real terms (£8m) than Blackburn's entire turnover in next season's League One campaign (estimated £7m). Remarkable.

Realistically we won't be able to attract the players to spend even half the money we'll bring in. Yet again we'll make one of the largest profits in the world.

I feel like this is a negative spin on the season.Winstonswhite wrote:Realistically we won't be able to attract the players to spend even half the money we'll bring in. Yet again we'll make one of the largest profits in the world.
Why the f@ck would any Burnley fan be negative about this season. Genuinely.
Hope we win this last game. Either way this season has been little short of incredible and I can't wait to show my appreciation to Dyche and the team after the West ham game, win or losw.
Reading this board is so depressing at times. I really can't understand why it isn't one of the most positive and enthusiastic football related message boards on the internet. We are in such a good position whatever way you look at it (particularly when you compare us to the shower down the road).

Re: £12 million pound game
I agree about the negativity thats why I am saying my glass is more than half full and its £12 mill game for me, I understand that if Watford win tonight and Leicester win on thursday it becomes harder but look who plays who on sunday I think if we win we could get 12th or 11th. But yes realistically the negs have it we could lose every one else wins and we end up 17th. But that would be a fantastic result.
But better with £12 mill on top of the £8 million we are set to get ie £20mill is really good

Re: £12 million pound game
This thread is a prime example of how the game of football (and most other sports) is now dominated by money.
I used to think Sky were bad enough building up the Championship play-off final to a £95m game -" the richest in world football". Last night a Sky commentator added "£195m if they manage to stay up."
