Dyche at player awards
There's a video floating around on various social networks of the Sean Dyche speech from the player awards (posted by dafabet) - it's ******* brilliant. I can't post a link I'm afraid but well worth hunting down and listen out for the line about the Lincoln game. This chap is brilliant, we are very lucky to have him as manager imho

He's proven to be an excellent appointment by the board. An excellent manager who probably deserves a statue in his honour.

Re: Dyche at player awards
Unfortunately, there are those who profess to support our Club (ABC and KBRFC are just two) who will not be happy until we have a Steve Kean, Michael Appleton, or even a Gary Bowyer at the helm.
Dyche is the best thing that has happened to this Club in decades.
Enjoy having him here! Support him and his team! Or, join the ***ktards who try to knock almost everything that he does.
We are playing in one of the most difficult Leagues in the World and we have beaten some of the best teams in the World. The guy, and his team, are fantastic.
In Sean Dyche we trust... long may he stay with us.

Teams lose games they shouldn't, thats what makes football so ace.
Course, if you have an axe to grind, then these things are a real issue. But not to most.

There's positive thinking and theirs critical thinking, you all swallowed the former whole under OC almost to a man, and now most have become uncritical followers.
Re: Dyche at player awards
There's a big grey area between positivity and negativity though. I sit somewhere in the middle. Would I like us to play fast free flowing football, yes. Do I understand the bigger picture of what we've achieved under SD in the past few years, absolutely.ablueclaret wrote:There's positive thinking and theirs critical thinking, you all swallowed the former whole under OC almost to a man, and now most have become uncritical followers.
SD has proved to be the single most important appointment in the clubs modern day history. That cannot be disputed. Coyle did the unthinkable but his shelf life was limited. We might not have known it at the time but his jobs since ours have proven him to be a one trick pony. SD has achieved two automatic promotions from the Championship and guided us to safety in the PL.
If you or anyone else on here can be consistently critical during this period then I put it you that you're searching for things to be critical of, and that's a shame.

He did very well to start with at Bolton (14th twice) if he'd left Bolton after 18 months they might still be in The Premier League.jlup1980 wrote:There's a big grey area between positivity and negativity though. Good speech and represents the club well on all fronts. I remember Sounness criticising Dyche for talking about off the field developments and training ground as Dyche's job was to manage and might not be here to see the off the field developments complete. Little did he know and how wrong he was as usual. Hell of an achievement keeping us up.

why do people always have to have a dig at Coyle? He did fantastic for us. To say he's useless and still be upset he left is just weird.

Re: Dyche at player awards
It's the "jumping ship" mid-season and taking all the backroom staff with him, plus the Jan transfer window he'd been working on for Burnley, that left the sour taste. If he'd seen us through to the end of the season, whether or not we'd stayed up would have been fine with me.Dyched wrote:why do people always have to have a dig at Coyle? He did fantastic for us. Of course, we might not now be lead by Sean Dyche if events hadn't taken the course that they did. Its all worked out fine.

Had he not left poor Sandy holding the Baby at M.K; had he just gone to see his Dear Mammy rather than dealing with Gartslime; had he not taken targets destined for OUR Club; had he not used BFC resources to source these targets; had he not worn the Badge of "Judas" so well; had he not been so instrumental in our demise that season, then it would have been fine by me too.Paul Waine wrote:If he'd seen us through to the end of the season, whether or not we'd stayed up would have been fine with me
His antics at Deadwood this season have managed to wipe some of his slate, but forgive him?

Sacked everywhere he's been. A "one trick Pony" (Shhhhh when you use that word at Deadwood) who got lucky with his team at t'Turf.
Good riddance !

I'd forgotten Owen Coyle was Rovers manager. I used to travel to Houston for business - while Coyle was managing Houston Dynamos. One of my friends there liked him at the time.

Re: Dyche at player awards
I appreciate the positive things OC did for our club. The promotion was unexpected and that whole season was absolutely remarkable. I try to remember that season for the good things rather than allowing my over all judgement of OC affect it.Dyched wrote:why do people always have to have a dig at Coyle? He did fantastic for us. To say he's useless and still be upset he left is just weird.
However, since leaving us he's proved one thing in every job he's had. When the chips are down he hasn't got a solution. It's well reported that he was pretty much just a motivator and that's great when things are on an upward trend, but surely players want and need more when you're on the way down. If you're struggling at the wrong end of the table I don't expect being told you're as good as Wayne Rooney is really going to be enough to stem the tide. That's something you can't level at SD. Whether we win, lose or draw his demeanour is much the same. There's a consistency with Dyche that really impresses me.
Like I say, I appreciate what OC did for us but I don't think for a second he would have been able to replicate his promotion season had we been relegated from the PL under his stewardship.
