Our biggest away following?
When we play Spurs away next season, we will presumably be able to secure a pretty large allocation of tickets. Will the prospect of the guaranteed sight of Burnley playing at Wembley attract one of our largest away followings of the season or not? It will certainly be a very unusual away day - even more so than our visit to the old Olympic stadium this season. Almost a home game for me so I'll be there.
Apologies if this has been discussed previously!

I was only thinking myself, how many tickets we may get. Just hope it's not a mid week game.

Pencil it in for a midweek or lunchtime kick off now.

What if we get Spurs away in the League Cup and F.A. Cup and we reach the final of both having played at Wembley in the semi final I'd be sick to death of the place.

Re: Our biggest away following?
Spurs will be allowed to have 90,000 capacity games every time they play there and with a waiting list of 50,000 for their season tickets, they will surely be able to sell as many tickets as are available - then there will be the 'half-and-half scarf' tourists from Korea and Japan who will lap up any remaining home tickets. My fear is that our allocation could be quite restricted.

Will be the first time I've been to Wembley and not been in the company of 40000 Clarets. That will be strange

I was there without the company of 40,000 Clarets when England drew with Switzerland in the opening match of Euro 96. It was n't too bad at all

Re: Our biggest away following?
That was a pretty poor game of football. Old Wembley as well, which had a lot of seats with terrible views....not necessarily a bad thing for that game.Man of Kent wrote:I was there without the company of 40,000 Clarets when England drew with Switzerland in the opening match of Euro 96. Re: Our biggest away following?
If Spurs reach the semi final of the FA Cup will it be played at Wembley? Not exactly a neutral venue!
Re: Our biggest away following?
The ruling for the allocation of away tickets in the Premier League is as follows: "3,000 tickets or, if the capacity of the home club's stadium is less than 30,000, such number of tickets as is equal to 10 per cent."

Will it still be £30 for away tickets?

Shows where away fans will be seated next season, not sure the allocation will be much bigger than 3000 if it is at all.

I was there too. The game itself was a pretty dour affair but two things stood out - one in the opening ceremony when some poor sod of a jouster fell off his horse right in front of me and my ten year old daughter and bust his leg.Man of Kent wrote:I was there without the company of 40,000 Clarets when England drew with Switzerland in the opening match of Euro 96. The other was when Shearer scored, I got no end of stick from two or three b£stard fans in their pristine new shirts.
How times change...

Re: Our biggest away following?
How many would we sell realistically if we were given a huge allocation? I don't think we'd sell more than 6000 anyway

Just had a look and the bottom tier holds just over 34,000, so nearer 5,000 do we think?

Nice to see we're sat near the pitch and not up in the rafters

Re: Our biggest away following?
there's a Premier League rule that away fans have to be seated next to the pitch from next season I believe. My Man Utd supporting mate told me the other day as he is having to move at OT as the away end is being shifted for the new ruling

Won't be a problem at Everton. Awful view at pitch level.Vegas Claret wrote:there's a Premier League rule that away fans have to be seated next to the pitch from next season I believe.

Re: Our biggest away following?
3,000 is the likely allocation - that's all any club has to give to away fans, and it's less if the capacity is less than 30,000 such as the Turf.Man of Kent wrote:When we play Spurs away next season, we will presumably be able to secure a pretty large allocation of tickets.
That's the maximum they can charge for 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 after which the current agreement ends.Acting Claret wrote:Will it still be £30 for away tickets?

Re: Our biggest away following?
Clubs have to allocate some pitch side tickets to away fans from next season. The only current Premier League club affected is Sunderland, but they are going down, although Newcastle will have to make changes.Vegas Claret wrote:there's a Premier League rule that away fans have to be seated next to the pitch from next season I believe. ?????? Man utd are the most affected club according to the press as there is a full block of United fans in between the away fans and the pitch.

The only people between the away fans and the pitch at Old Trafford are in a disabled section.Vegas Claret wrote:?????? Man utd are the most affected club according to the press as there is a full block of United fans in between the away fans and the pitch.

Re: Our biggest away following?
yes and they are moving that to the side of the pitch to accommodate the new rules and more disabled supporters. Something like 2600 Season ticket holders have been told they are moving
