What about all the other times we've been beaten this season, do they not count?

Had we won today we'd have finished 3 places higher, which is around £6 million.

Nevertheless, what a brilliant season overall by the Clarets - who would not have taken a 16th place finish in the Premier League at the beginning of the season? A totally fantastic effort over the 38 games ~ a massive well done to the manager and players and all concerned!

Poor game that. Very much an end of season feel to it. The second half was painful stuff. It's highlighted our deficiencies for next season though. 2 wins in 16 isn't a nice way to end the year. It almost feels like the season effectively ended in January. SD has a lot of work to do this summer.

Or indeed, if we'd beaten Swansea at home on the first day of the season.....

I hope people don't get too wound up on the position we finished. 6 point from 8th to 17th is so small to get annoyed about.

I am ecstatic...4th bottom every year wouldnt bother me...ok for the time being our aspirations are modest but this cash can propell us forward in the long term...fantastic achievement...ask hull...sunderland and boro about it.

Re: 2 million quid that defeat cost us today
It's £1.9 million per place and had we won we'd have been 13th so it has cost us £5.7 million, but it doesn't matter, we've got another season in the Premier League to look forward to.happyclaret17 wrote:according to jeff stelling....ba million quid per position.et the directors aint too chuffed...must admit I hadnt realised it was a million quid per position.

It hasn't cost us anything, because we didn't have it in the first place.
