Turns out the rule was so vague the league couldn't enforce it and are going to review it.
Meanwhile Huddersfield won't be punished for helping to send Rovers down.

Quite right! A manager should be allowed to play whichever set of players he wants.

The right decision. When the league, other teams and fans tell you who you should pick its time to pack in.

They should be handsomely rewarded with promotion to the Premier League and hopefully will on May 29th

This would be up there as being one of the most ridiculous rules in the history of football if it was ever enforced.
Re: No punishment for Huddersfield re fielding weakened team.
Entirely justifiable decision to field a weakened team. 2 birds with one stone so to speak
"The regulation states that Clubs must play their ‘full strength’ side in all fixtures unless some satisfactory reason is given."
What more satisfactory reason could there be than assisting in the demise of the horse fiddlers

This 'rule' must have been put in as an April fool joke and then left in by accident.

it's all nonsense, at the beginning of the season you are asked to name your squad are you not ? (or is that just Premier league ?)
