There were unconfirmed reports a man had been arrested by armed police after a suspicious package was found in the Arndale centre's food court.

Conflicting reports suggested the incident may have been a false alarm amid high tensions following Monday's attack.

Hopefully the latter not the former.

MEN reports that an arrest has been made in Arndale not connected to bombing.

Not clear whether Arndale is now open or not but the cordon surrounding Selfridges and Royal exchange has now been lifted following reports of a suspicious package

there was guy arrested about an hour and a half ago and a suspicious package in the food court that needed to be checked out.
