He did John and he was excellent even having been placed next to MDWat at the table. I think he came with Dave Lynch, Joe Jackson and Ross Wilson. Ross was very quiet but the other two were brilliant as well. Joe Jackson, sadly, has gone through an horrendous time with illness but I'm pleased to say has now come through it although he's no longer playing football because of it.JohnMac wrote:Joe came to a CM dinner and is a really nice lad . Interesting to read,CT. The other side of football we don't hear too much of. Good luck to all concerned, especially Joe Jackson for a healthy future.ClaretTony wrote:He did John and he was excellent even having been placed next to MDWat at the table. Thanks for this update. I remember the three of them at the CM dinner and thinking that they were a credit to the club.
So sorry to hear about Joe Jackson and I hope that he makes a success of whatever he does. As silkyskills said, this is the other side of football and is what thousands of lads go through every year.

Jackson, Lynch and Wison all ended up playing in the same Workington team when Ash Hoskin was assistant manager there. Unfortunately they ended up getting relegated and all 3 left. Jackson had a type of leukaemia I understand, while Wilson went to play for Silsden where he lives. David Lynch - who's a big Rovers fan by the way - was later captain at Clitheroe.
