Do you eat garlic?

Post by Pstotto » Thu Jun 01, 2017 2:02 am

I like eating garlic, it reminds me of being on holiday. I think it's fantastic. I don't put it in Lancashire Hotpot or Chicken broth, but apart from that, it's awesome. I once met a lady who was allergic to garlic. I'm glad I didn't marry her.

I am glad I didn't marry you too! Garlic is the most offensive thing ever invented! Makes me puke...almost literally. Gets me. So many things have it in the ingredients nowadays, too!

Ian, I wouldn't be interested in marrying you so it isn't a problem. You're a bloke! On a dating site, the first thing I write is 'got to love garlic.' I'm still single. So much for women loving cooking.

Maybe he does to ward off potential suitors for SD.

Garlic is fantastic.

Very tasty and adds flavour to the dish.

Has the added bonus of keeping vampires away!

Can't deny that it adds flavour. I went on a cruise once, where the chef had a garlic obsession. The lamb tasted of garlic, the beef tasted of garlic, the tomato soup tasted of garlic, everything but the strawberries tasted of garlic. (They tasted of pepper. He was a very strange chef.)

its vile, truly disgusting, being around people who have eaten it is terrible, worse than smokers. far worse, . i think they should be more thoughtful and spend about a week away from everyone until their breath has no trace of it.

The worst thing is those Garlic pills which people take for 'health'. They are labelled odourless!!!!!

THEY STINK! Also, the fact that you take one a day....they stink forever! Permeates the skin. No more dates for anyone on them! :P

Cod liver oil capsules are even worse - usually about 1/2 hour after swallowing them.

Garlic is such an over rated over used form of seasoning it is beyond a joke now. A slight hint in the back ground enhances certain dishes but this F in obsession with garlic in everything over powering the meal is a joke.
I blame the French, next the big thing will be saying oh la la to everything thereafter surrender monkey syndrome and your capital city handed over to the Germans without a shot being fired. It's a conspiracy hatched in Brussels.
The British onion, now there's a flavour that gives you back bone and Pstotto quadruples your attractiveness to the opposite sex, which in your case might still be 0 as 4 x 0 is 0. Find love eat an onion.

I love garlic. I like slathering stuff in that allioli dip that comes in the yellow pots. Now that's a strong taste!

In fact, I can't think of a single meal that wouldn't be improved by adding both garlic and cheese.

Someone I used to work with once made a recipe with two cloves of garlic. Unfortunately he didn't know the difference between a clove and a head. Suffice to say he had plenty of his own space next day!

I genuinely can't believe how many people on this thread cannot stand garlic, and I feel sorry for them at all the great food they're missing out on.

I can't begin to imagine how boring their diet is.

No need to imagine. My diet isn't boring, it's just the lamb tastes of lamb, not of garlic. I reckon putting garlic on lamb is an appalling waste of lamb; each to his own. But we aren't missing out on any food but garlic.

I use garlic a fair bit, both raw in salads and cooked.

There are four ways to use garlic when cooking which yield four different flavours. Over to Jamie Oliver:

It's the same with people who don't like cheese. Obviously had their tastebuds and the part of their brain that shows pleasure in eating removed when they were born.

None whatsoever. I've never been on a single date. The dating site thing is just a way of fleecing the lonely. I got some interest from two Russian girls who sent EXACTLY THE SAME LETTER, how they lived 1000KM east of Moscow, they were a telephone operator for the emergency services and that they'd been in a bad relationship with an evil man. That was it. Not only that but they carefully select women with three children who hit middle age in their teens and who think they're the Queen of Sheba.

I'm sticking to eating garlic and going down the pub for a few pints, I hate the idea of going on a date, sounds so contrived.
