Ilkeston FC - The End

Post by ClaretTony » Mon Jun 05, 2017 2:22 pm

Monday a.m. - Ilkeston FC issue a statement to confirm they have agreed in principle a takeover by All Eight Sports. The statement ended: "The minute the deal is confirmed officially we will immediately be in contact with creditors, players and fan groups to discuss our proposals and to arrange a Q & A session where we will talk directly to supporters’ ALL EIGHT."

But one of those creditors is Hire Intelligence, a company who loan out office equipment.

Monday p.m. - Ilkeston FC are wound up by the judge at the High Court in Liverpool who refused them time to complete the deal.

Wasn't Shaun Goater their manager?
Sure he was up at my local team recently.
Remember him liking to score against us.

Just checked, and yes he is (or should I say was) the manager.

Just looked myself, CT.
Always sad to see a local community club fold.
But they've apparently already got a 'phonex' club in place!

Shame to see clubs go to the wall, particularly as this is the second time for Ilkestown in the past 7 years.
The amount outstanding this time is just over £14000 and has probably accrued over the last few years as Ilkeston, like many other clubs, have struggled
to continue, having been suspended at the start of the 2016/17 season for debt-related issues.

It just emphasises the gap which exists between the riches of the PL and all football below that level.

Not even a days wages for most of the top clubs players!

At that level it's much more commonplace for clubs to fold and be re-born.

Sad all the same and I hope they manage to keep their nice little ground.

Good luck to any new Ilkeston FC and hope the vultures are kept at bay.

Probably less than many Prem 'stars' sat in private Nightclub rooms tip the girls that bring in their drinks. :(

It wouldn't have killed some of the league clubs nearby to arrange friendlies with them.
