Andy Payton - Coaching Opportunities?
Andy Payton has recently passed some more football coaching courses and is now a UEFA qualified coach. He is looking to get back into the game at a profesional level but needs to gain as much 'work experience' as possible to open the doors / opportunities. He is currently coaching at Accy Stanley amongst others. He wants to get into schools / colleges to get more experience. I am sure there will be many on here who may be aware of such opportunities.
He has posted online. Please see Andys post from Facebook below:
Right people i need your help, im currently doing loads of Football coaching in the evenings (Accrington Stanley Academy, Padiham FC, Elite Mark Academy & also my finishing sessions ) im a Uefa qualified coach having already done the level 1&2 , plus the Youth Modules, The Uefa B licence, and just completed the ex Professional Footballers A licence , im looking to work as a Football coach during the day time either in Colleges / Schools, soccer schools, whatever, im just trying to use the power of Facebook to see if there's anything out there for someone with my experience, thank you and have a nice day
----
Andy is a top bloke who I have a lot of time for. He managed and played for our amateur team on Sundays and coached my nephew. He also played in charity games to help us raise money for Pendleside. He is 'one of our own' and gave us all some great memories as Burnley fans. He has worked hard to get to where he is today and hopefully someone may be aware of opportunities that may be suited to him as he looks to get back into the game full time.

They could do with a hand up Bolton Road.
He probably wouldn't get much of a welcome, though.

Maybe better to get an agent rather than beg on social media.

I wouldn't call it begging, more using available outlets. Better that than doing nowt and good luck to him.Quickenthetempo wrote:Maybe better to get an agent rather than beg on social media.

I hope you two had the same view when our recruitment team was begging in emails for players the other year.
Not many thought it was good initiative, but plenty tinpot.

Re: Andy Payton - Coaching Opportunities?
You are comparing a football club doing million pound transfers with a new qualified coach asking people he knows on facebook of any local clubs or schools wanting any help with coaching ?
Not sure where the bitterness comes from did he refuse you an autograph as a kid ?

Strange comparison, Quicken.
One person looking for work compared to a recruitment team going off piste out of desperation.
Payton may not have the money for an agent, so why not try Facebook? It's a good way to get a message to a lot of people and he's prepared to take some of the negativity that it will inevitably bring, good on him.

Re: Andy Payton - Coaching Opportunities?
I can imagine the comments if a local school asked him if he fancied helping out at training and he told the school to speak to his agent.

Fair enough, if he had no contacts in the football world I might agree with you.claretdom wrote:You are comparing a football club doing million pound transfers with a new qualified coach asking people he knows on facebook of any local clubs or schools wanting any help with coaching ?

Maybe the game of football doesn't look after you as much as we thought. Or maybe his behaviour from the past caught up with him.

Our 5-a-side team could do with some coaching.
Although I do accept we may be beyond help.
Good luck to him.

Re: Andy Payton - Coaching Opportunities?
Some people will find a negative out of any positive.
Facebooks the biggest social media platform. Practically everyone is on it or knows someone who is. There are plenty of contacts out there who might be aware of something. He would be foolish not to utilise it.

Re: Andy Payton - Coaching Opportunities?
Past behaviours are irrelevant, ergo, if Adam Johnson was to be offered an opportunity at Turf Moor to play football, you'd be for it, according to the logic of past behaviours being irrelevant.
It was a hyperbolic joke, mate, no big deal.

A great player in his time and I wish him well in his coaching role.Perhaps a message to Paul Cook at Latics may be worth him considering.
