Apparently the Daily Mail don't know anything about Burnley FC

Post by IndigoLake » Sat Aug 12, 2017 6:12 pm

Reading their player ratings, I notice the following comments:

Tom Heaton: Solid display as ever from the young England keeper, though he did not have a shot to save in the first half. 8

Young? Does 31 count as young? Nah...it's not even young for a keeper.

Jack Cork: Must have enjoyed returning to the club where he started his career but never played for the first team. Excellent throughout. 8

Didn't start his career here. Did play for the first team.

Sorry...misread that comment. Thought it was in reference to him returning to play with Burnley FC, haha

Jeff Hendrick: Solid, no-nonsense from the Irish midfielder who helped Burnley squeeze the life out of Chelsea. Hit post with late free kick. 7

Erm, pretty sure it was Brady.

Could have ended the topic title 3 words early and still be accurate.

Cork was first a Chelsea player, from 2006-2011. Didn't play for the first team.

Jack Cork did start his career at Chelsea and he never played for the first team -- so they are correct.

This is true. I read it differently. Thought it was in reference to him returning to Burnley FC.

Talksport tonight said that Huddersfield will be delighted beating Palace but result of the day goes to Sean Dyke and his fellow newcomers winning at Chelsea. That is from a supposed dedicated sports station!
