Two mouth breathers got on the pitch after Cork scored the first goal. One made it as far as trying to attack our players. There's plenty of photos of it online where he's got Westwood by the throat

Singled out Westwood as he's the smallest player on our team, I did note he bypassed Tarkowski

Re: Blackburn Fans on the pitch
The thought that went through my mind was of Rovers fans saying our rivalry didn't mean anything to them anymore and that Man Utd were their rivals. You wouldn't have thought so last night. Karma is a bitch!

Here is the photo Sparky is referring tooSparkyClaret wrote:There's plenty of photos of it online where he's got Westwood by the throat

Re: Blackburn Fans on the pitch
On tv, after our goal looked like a rugby scrum between our players and a greasy scrubber. Seemed to take an age to get him detained. His mate joined him a bit too late, but just stood there and soiled himself.
For all the bubble travel operation and over the top security measures, they failed in the simple task of protecting the players!
He had his hands on Westwoods throat at one point, could have had any sort of weapon.
I'm glad the referee didn't start booking our players, as they had to protect themselves as the ground safety people didn't!
Heads should roll at Rovers, big fines and a nice stint in side for the 2 idiots.

I did laugh at the fact he picked on on smallest player. Shame he didn't try it on with Barnsey ha ha! I suspect The Venkys can expect a hefty fine from the FA for this... which would be the cherry on the cake after beating them so easily!!

Best quote is from Tony Mowbray who didn't see the incident!
One does wonder what these managers do on the sidelines sometimes, they never seem to be looking at the pitch!

Re: Blackburn Fans on the pitch
The police were outside with some of the biggest guns I've ever seen, yet some Blackburn oxygen thief manages to take a good 30 seconds to amble across the pitch, unimpeded, to our players and try to start a fight.
The BFC players held him down and still no stewards or police came to get the dipstick, so of course eventually he broke free and tottled back towards the stand before somebody finally tackled him near the touch line. Even then it was one steward, no police to be seen.
Where were the police in this? Probably counting their overtime money outside, I suspect.

The Burnley fan who went on the pitch and threatened Savage got 6 months in Preston nick.
He could be getting longer.

Just relieved to hear it was their idiots and not ours. The BBC site showed a photo but didn't specify who the half-wits "supported".
We have no right to criticise their idiots given the record of our own lowlife in matches against them.

They were lined up infront of the Burnley fans, with numerous video cameras pointing towards the away fans..... all whilst the Rovers fans to the Left launched Liquid filled bottles and Coins.Darthlaw wrote:

My seat was on the front row and someone had put a Padiham Clarets flag on the netting in front of us, by the end of the game there were 3 bottles in the vicinity and the said flag had 4 coins resting on it.
Add this to my comments on the "People asked to leave yesterday" thread. Seems to me that the Police weren't interested in anything other than the visiting fans.

Run onto the pitch - pretty obvious you are a fan "up to no good."Darthlaw wrote:The police were outside with some of the biggest guns I've ever seen, yet some Blackburn oxygen thief manages to take a good 30 seconds to amble across the pitch, unimpeded, to our players and try to start a fight.

Walk slowly onto the pitch - maybe not be noticed, just look like one of the coaching staff (or ground staff) coming on to deal with an injury or something.
Wasn't there a flare (or two) set off amongst the visiting fans around the same time.
Not too difficult to see how the situation developed while police/stewards not responding immediately.

Not sure what was worse that haircut, fake shirt or choice of 'football club'. The most pathetic thing I witnessed was a b*stard fan getting kicked out of the ground and his two daughters maybe 6 or 7 years old having to walk behind him whilst the stewards threw him out.

How about throwing a single shoe onto the pitch?

I hope they didn't get it backTwo supporters were arrested for possession of a flare and another supporter was arrested for throwing a shoe onto the pitch.

Re: Blackburn Fans on the pitch
There's a moron on the BRFC forum who thinks our players should get prosecuted for pushing him to the ground and holding him. I kid you not! Thankfully, the others soon shot him down on that.

So he'd just stand there whilst somebody attacks him or his mate would he?

1. He ran onto the pitch.
2. He ran out of puff hence then ambling across it and taking a lot of time in doing so.
3. He came from the opposite side to where coaching staff, st Johns ambulance and basically all staff who are allowed on the pitch are situated.
4. Are you really saying ALL police & steward's attention was on the away end because of a flare?
I've seen it in many other sporting events where pitch invaders are either stopped as they enter the pitch or shortly after they get on. This guy CROSSED the pitch - Slowly, was allowed to get to our players, have his little hissy fit, be pinned down by our players and then escape back towards where he cam from without any kind of intervention from police or stewards until he was back at the touchline.
All in all this took maybe 2-3 minutes. Surely even the best police apologist couldn't defend that, given their presence around the stadium?

That steward took the punch pretty well too!
Very well done to the photographer that managed to get that split second photo of the scumbag with his hand around Westwood's throat. If it wasn't for that photo doing the rounds then the video can very easily look like Westwood over reacted as it is hard to see him being grabbed as it happens so quick.

I love how after he attacks the players, he pleads with them not to hurt him when he is on his arse. His mate mincing on after him is hillarious though.
Swinging his fist into the stewards head isn't going to him many favours in court either.

If you absolutely have to light a flare, keep hold of it. Take responsibility, don't lob it into a crowd of your own fans (any fans).
