I've just heard Benitez on BT saying that Newcastle can't afford the players that we are buying; WOW! The majority of this is down to SD and the rest is down to the board. Drink it in people, this is a fantastic time to be a Burnley fan and we can now give any team a game. Even the runaway leaders had to resort to cheating to break the deadlock and since then we've won three on the bounce. SD is a God!

I would hope they are trying to give him a new deal

The board would love for SD to sign for that long.

Unfortunately we are restricted by what SD is prepared to agree to - which is the rolling 1 year deal he has had since he joined the club 5 years ago. I have heard that he is the best paid person at the football club already!

Thankfully foreign managers are all the rage now otherwise he'd have been nicked off us.

Why would he sign a 10 year deal. The fans dont even get behind him. Maybe we are still too cynical after howe and coyle left how they did

Maybe the fans have right to be wary, I have never heard Sean Dyche commit himself to the club, ever.
Maybe some of us feel the same about him, the relationship works just fine and it's all going well, getting married might spoil it.

He doesn't do deals.

He does 1 year rolling contracts only updated with money.

Howe?
We got paid for him and he left the first team squad in a far better state then when he arrived.

Plus if my wife wanted to move back closer to home and my mum had just died I'd be off too.

He wanted to move because he was about 20 minutes away from the sack. The fact we got money for him... unbelievable!

Don't change a thing. At the present time Sean Dyche is perfect for Burnley and Burnley is perfect for Sean Dyche and there is enough goodwill on both sides to weather the inevitable tough times that will come. If we can get to 40 points and stay up after being second favorites for relegation at the start of the season it would be fantastic and unlike many other sides there is no pressure to achieve anything more so we can push on from there and who knows where Burnley will finish up.

Well, somethings got to change, either the results or, eventually, the manager .I'm prepared to give him more time, but we can't go on like this indefinitely.

Other than the long term contract Dyche signed until 2022 ?

I get that none of the fans are happy with our current predicament but some of the rubbish being posted on this board in last couple of months is unbelievable.
We have the second longest serving manager in the league who has been loyal to us as we have been to him. This is the same manager who has done more for us “off the field” than arguably any manager has in our long history.
And people might counter that with “it’s on the field that matters”....tell that to Bolton, Portsmouth, Leeds and all the other clubs who have gone into administration.

And some fans seriously question whether he has ever “committed” himself to the club - what does that even mean ? What possibly more do you expect him to havd done ? Dyche has never said anything but positive things about Burnley as a town, our supporters and the club. And because of his unprecedented success he has had the opportunity to talk positively about us to the world more than any other manager in our history.

True, I've seen such comments but they are from a minority. I don't think many people actually put much stock in those statements.
