Flintoff is a Flat Earther

FLAT EARTH FREDDIE England Ashes hero Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff is convinced by the controversial Flat Earth theory
The cricket legend insisted there was 'evidence to suggest the world isn’t round'

ENGLAND Ashes hero Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff is convinced the world is flat.

Freddie, 39, is hooked on a podcast called The Flat Earthers where conspiracy theorists accuse Disney of peddling lies about the planet’s shape.

Freddie, who inspired England to victory in the 2005 series, insisted there was “evidence to suggest the world isn’t round”.

He said: “If you’re in a helicopter and you hover why does the Earth not come to you if it’s round?

“Why, if we’re hurtling through space, why would water stay still? Why is it not wobbling? Also if you fire a laser about 16 miles, if the world was curved, you shouldn’t be able to see it but you can.”

The BBC Radio 5 live presenter has discussed visiting The Flat Earth International Conference in North Carolina next year with co-host Robbie Savage, 43.

But he admitted he does not believe Earth is totally flat, instead claiming it was “bulbous, like a turnip”.

He said: “The middle is the North Pole, around the outside is the South Pole which is like a big wall of ice.

"This is why all governments now have bases on the South Pole.”

Does anyone on Up The Clarets believe the earth is flat, like Andrew Flintoff?

Maybe someone needs to explain to him the concept of the 'North' bit in Preston North End.

I was scoffing at this,
Guffawing
Then this blew my mind
Flintoff - "He said: “If you’re in a helicopter and you hover why does the Earth not come to you if it’s round?
I'm like, F@ck, and even though I sort of know the answer, I can't get my head round it........
Something to contemplate on the coach to Bournemouth.....
Is the earth just a googly thrown by one of the Gods

To be honest 99% of people only believe the earth is round because that's what we have been taught at school.

A helicopter will be using reference points (trees, buildings etc) for his hover so that he doesn't crash. Those reference points are moving in tune with the Earth's spin, so the helicopter is in fact moving too.

And some probably complicated physics too....

Apparently only the north pole has that. Tall Paul's gif says the south pole experiences normal days/night periods.

I mean, honestly, does this mean all those 'round the world' posh yachting types like Ellen MacArthur have been lying to us common plebs all along ? they haven't been circumnavigating the globe at all, have they. They've simply gone out a few hundred miles until they reach this massive wall of ice (which strangely has never been seen by anyone else), turned around and come back with a fake suntan and weighing 4 stones less, to pop open a few bottles of champagne. The fraudsters.

I'm surprised Flintoff doesn't think driving from Preston to London is all downhill, and the return journey is all uphill.

I think I could forgive Flintoff for just about anything after the 2005 Ashes.

With the possible exception of the 2006/7 Ashes.

The sun moves closer to the north pole in our summer and further away in winter, like so:

Of course they're not lying. They've taken a similar path to the Sun in the diagram. They only ever circumnavigate the globe East to West don't they? Nobody ever does it the other way - because it's not possible!

Suggest every one goes to you tube
Type in mark Sargent or Eric Dubay
And find out
200 proofs the earth is flat
It will blow your head off
So this in early April and been trying to work it out
Just research flat earth and the questions will answered
People who take **** are still stand on there days in oz

No scientist has proved the earths spin
Water always stays level
Planes fly flat
Ever heared of plane sailing
Its sea level not sea curve
Water can't run up hill (nile river)
It crazy I know
