OK, I'll ask before anyone else......
Where they going to put the Home fans whilst they do it?
Where they going to put the away fans?

Barry if you read it - they say current stand remains during construction

They could be in the championship next season.
Nothing looks worse than thousands of empty seats.

Are they near enough to plat at London Stadium while re-build in progress? Or, have West Ham got an "exclusive" on the nation's "spare" stadium?

Actually, I read the article saying that the stand will remain in use throughout the re-build - same as done at Anfield, apparently.

The cost will be mainly down to the location and difficulty of the job.

Looks very impressive, although I am not sure it will fit well with the rest of the dump.

Palace sold the ground behind one of their goals years ago to Sainsburys. That's why they have half a stand there with the capacity of a league two club. It's mental for Palace to expand as the ground is ample for Championship games next year.

They average about 25k, so they must feel it’s needed.

In the championship they last averaged about 17-18k though.

It looks like they've been selling out their 25.5k capacity for all home games this season (when the gate's been down a bit on that, probably because away fans aren't filling up their section).
They must be banking on quite a bit of revenue ongoing from the extra 8500 "seats" to get back the £75-£100 million cost (+ interest on loan). I think they'd need quite a bit of hospitality income from the extra & to get the av attendance beyond 30k to make it pay.

They must've done the sums but it looks dicey if they get relegated (or, if often happens in't smoke, the actual costs rise substantially when building gets underway).

The south and in particular London don't baulk at building developments. They have a vision and do it. The norths vision is how much can be saved building a backyard wall! Investment in London and the south as been more attractive for years.

As lovely as that new stand looks, if I were a Palace fan I'd be more concerned with the on-field issues right now.
