January transfer window
What are everyone’s expectations?
On one hand we look well on track to achieve the seasons targets with the squad we have, so why pay inflated prices when look to be in good shape. Better to save the money for a bumper summer??
And on the other, does the club flash the cash and see who we can attract based on league position we are enjoying right now.
I know loans are still an option but which club I’m the league would even consider helping us out?

Re: January transfer window
I've seen threads over the past week or so talking about how much to spend etc.
At the end of the day we want the right players who fit our team ethic and can make a difference, as long as we don't start getting giddy and massively increasing our wage budget and continue to aim for a sensible profit each year then it doesn't matter whether they cost £5 Million or £15 Million as long as we keep improving the team/squad window on window and season on season.

CB + 1 other
Although I think we could do with CB, winger, CAM + striker

CB and a player who can play out wide and challenge for CAM when Brady is back. Really don't think we need a striker. I'm more than happy with Wood who is a perfect lone striker with Barnes and Vokes being effective subs

Re: January transfer window
Morning papers linking us with Nicolas De Preville of Bordeaux.
His name has cropped up before, I believe.
Just checked and he's already played for Lille and Bordeaux this season. Is there not a EUFA rule whereby you can't play for more than two clubs in one season?

Re: January transfer window
He's down as a centre forward on some sites and an
attacking midfielder on another.
His team Bordeaux who he joined at the beginning of the season for 7m or so
haven't done very well as of late losing their last 5 games and he's just scored one goal with 2 assists.
Can't see it myself unless Wells is on his way to Villa and Dyche sees Nicolas De Preville as a better option.
IBut it would be good if we could test the European market and bring in someone
who can make an impression. Shouldn't cost that much - 8m?

Re: January transfer window
If Vokes goes then we should get another one for the bench but I don't think he will go until summerBeijingClaret wrote:And what happens if Vokes goes?
