Jack Cork-has run (approx) 200 miles

Post by LeadBelly » Fri Feb 09, 2018 2:25 pm

Apologies if already covered unbeknown to me, there's a Mail article from this am which is mainly about Jack having covered more miles than any other EPL player this season. (Obviously part attributable to him being ever present but also due to his work-rate per game I think).
197.7 miles for Jack with our "old friend" Dale Stephens 2nd on 189 miles.

You aren't allowed to post Daily Mail links on here, some people refuse to read even the sports section.

Still can't believe we got him so cheap.

Especially when you look at what he's done for us and how badly Sanches has flopped.

I'm happy to hand it over to the kids in the CFS to put a donk on it.

I didn't want to start a new thread but did want to say how much I appreciate Jack. He really has played a major role in our overall improvement. He doesn't score many or set a lot of goals up so he's not a headline grabber. But he is a class defensive midfielder who works tirelessly and starts a lot of moves. He is a "SD player".

A really good player and pivotal to our success this season.
His transfer fee looks ridiculously cheap now.
When we signed him I was happy but I didn't anticipate him having such a good season.

Is this his best season?

Yes, although he may not have scored a lot/got a lot of final-pass assists, he seems to have been involved in a lot of the goals (as well as being a great cover for the defence). When you replay our goal sequences, he's very often involved a few passes back from the goal with a nicely chosen pass or little run etc.
Not sure why his previous two clubs let him leave (though I know a couple of Saints fans who would like him back) but he's been terrific value for us- our gain.

Just to be the man
that Sean Dyche asks
to boss the midfield at Turf Moor
