Bottle Thrown

Post by ClaretAL » Sat Feb 24, 2018 8:51 pm

There seemed to be a bit of a ruckus as the players went off , with 1 of the Southampton players seemingly indicating a bottle had be thrown at him from the CFS and handed it to the steward. did anyone else see this?

Yeah, he picked it up and started trying to do the "calm down, no need" gesture to the fans. Then got to the tunnel and had a big smile on his face and blew a kiss to the fans.

Their defender and another staff member (looked like their kitman?) were walking off and winding up fans after the game....nothing to talk about really.

Then that is two bottles as there was a plastic water bottle (with some water in) that came out of the Bob Lord and hit the linesman on the leg. What kind of f@@kwits come onto our games? Passion, yes, throwing bottles, I never will understand. I hope the cameras were on and these people can be caught, we don't need fans like this.

Plain f@@king stupid, not rebellious; this'll end up in the match report and the Club could get a hefty fine.

Errr, no, the camera was in my boot bag, but I did get this before KO http://www.uptheclarets.com/messageboar ... =2&t=26260" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The steward on the bench saw it and it was reported, the liner just looked at the bottle and back heeled it off the pitch.

Ignorant tossers who are simply devoid of brain cells and have no place at any crowd gathering, let alone Burnley. FC.

They let every single one of us down.

Must have been 2 then, the one I saw the game was stopped, it missed him and only just made it onto the pitch, liner just looked at it, someone else got it off the pitch.

The kitman was openly laughing at the booing fans in the Cricketfield Stand and gestured his disdain. A plastic pop bottle was hurled in his direction from somewhere in the stand. Redmond (I think) just passed it to the steward and said it wasn't a problem before putting his arm round the kitman's shoulder and guiding him away from the fans.

The game was stopped, it was just after they had scored. I was 3 yards behind the liner and it hit him on the ankle, he looked at it and he back heeled it off the pitch.

Someone had a coughing fit causing their false teeth to fly out, as they tried to catch them they forgot they had a bottle in one hand, sending it spinning through the air and on the pitch

The false teeth falling into their tartan blanket

Sounds like he's got potential, can he play on the wing?

Sounds like more passion in the Bob Lord today again that the Cricket Field?

Seriously though what sort of pollock thinks it’s ok to throw things on the pitch, find them and ban them.

Two of the southampton defenders were baiting the cricket field as was the kit man.

Redmind then tried to calm them down. Bottles and coins got whizzed and redmond agaim to his credit at this point tried to calm them and th crowd down again. The redmond got to tunnel and started blowing kisses and gesturing himself.

No excuse for throwing bottles. Cowardly thing to do. But the saints werent saint either.

Slightly off topic but it did make me laugh when they zoomed in on Gareth Southgate and the two people behind him had those blankets wrapped tight around their legs. No offence.

I'm getting confused here. So who was it who threw the bottle? Southgate?

I'm in the JHU and TBF I noticed one of the Southampton back room staff deliberately winding up the CFS as they were leaving the field. I think the empty plastic bottle was then aimed at him, but he either ignored it or didn't see it and Bertrand? who was behind him picked it up and handed it to the steward. And then started winding up the fans!! (which seemed a bit daft!)
