To see the levels of immaturity at times on this forum.

A forum is a gathering, a multitude of opinions (and we may agree and disagree!) that we all agree to take part in.

We’re all here under the premise of (Burnley fans) or voyeurs in the case of Saxo and other non-Burnley fans. That’s why I come here, to talk about Burnley FC with other Burnley FC fans. If I wish to speak with a Rovers fan, I’ll go and seek one out - they shouldn’t be here. Just my opinion!

I don’t post that often because I often find that this place is no more than the school playground/workplace.

For example the team selection thread is a hotly debated thread and everyone puts on their initialled tracksuit and imagines they are the manager. Don’t let it go to your head though! There’s only one team being picked - the gaffer’s and we all have to accept that!

Just because someone doesn’t agree with your selection, doesn’t really mean we should start to use the forums controls against such users. This would then create an anti-forum. A forum where all users are made to tow the line and agree with what the mods and admins say.

What happened to free speech? We’re living in such an age of ‘oh you’re offending me, I’d best call Ofcom’ that we’re forgetting how to have healthy debates. We’re getting upset over the smallest things - one of them being Jeff Hendrick in a starting XI.

Theres more to life than Jeff Hendrick and his position in our formation. Using a forum’s controls against the forum’s users in order to dictate a consensus narrative is very dystopian and detracts from the usually good banter often seen on this forum.

I love Burnley FC with all my heart. I’ve cried tears of joy, I’ve cried tears of pain. I’m sure many of you all have in your own ways. That’s what we have in common. Don’t let opinions get in the way of us being a great collective on this great forum!

The threads and posts were removed for reasons that had nothing to do with team predictions but because unacceptably personal. Selecting your favoured team is not a problem, neither is disagreeing with other selections.

This matter was dealt with and explained as well as possible. It was not an invitation to start another thread to discuss it and as such this thread is being locked.
