I've seen another video where Ash just walks up and takes it back with absolutely no fuss, throws it to Matt Lowton (I think)

Yep and this is part of the problem too comfortable career wise and financially like most of the England squad.

By the letter of the law both Barnes and Noble should have been sent off for violent conduct for tackling fans. Ridiculous but true.
