Eddie Howe v. Judas Horseface

Post by ontario claret » Mon May 14, 2018 8:39 pm

It was a pleasant enough day for everybody involved yesterday (except for that late goal), but it brought to mind the difference between our ex-managers. The one who we all hate, has gone from weakness to weakness since he left us in the lurch, while the one who left with class and dignity has quietly done almost the best job anywhere with extremely limited resources. All the best to Eddie and everyone associated with Bournemouth football club. :D

He certainly acted with class and dignity and has done a remarkable job but don't kid yourself that he has extremely limited resources. Bournemouth have had significant financial backing for a number of years now.

One brought us great success, one brought us great boring football. They both left for perceived better jobs. They are both below where the club is now.

Howe left to go to a club a league below us. I’m glad he left though, without him going we wouldn’t have got Dyche. I believe when Howe left he was only a few games away from being sacked, we were leaking goals like no tomorrow and the players could only seem to last 80 minutes. After losing that 2-0 lead a palace on the coach home a fair few of us thought it wasn’t going to be long until he got sacked. Howe suits Bournemouth, just like how Dyche suits Burnley. All the best to him.

I must admit not taking to Howe. Neither his boring football or his mard sulky expressions. In fairness his football has improved a bit at Bournemouth from the slow slow slow stuff he did here. Not a patch on Dyche.

I think if Dyche had Eddie's attacking flair and Eddie had Dyche's defensive skills they would be world beaters

Howe just like anyone else needs the right players for his system to work.

They are the polar opposite to us and probably when we was here he tried to use his way of playing with players that weren't capable at the time.

To be a good manager you need to be able to work with what you have originally though and gradually put your own spin on it. He didn't do that Burnley, but if he had time to rebuild he probably would have.

Nice guy though and nothing against him, good to see them stay up compared to some other teams.

Eddie... luckiest man alive.

The Jenson Button of football...

Minutes from being axed and goes on to become a "success"

Big season for Howe next year, not progressed at all last season, his big money signings don't really come off the team arguably has gone backwards.
If we had a striker with serious pace we would of hammered them on Sunday, the amount of times they lost the ball and we failed to capitalize was amazing.
I know they love him down there but if they don't have a good start to next year I can see him getting potted.
Also agree with above, he was 2 games away from getting sacked, if he would of stayed we would of gone down.
