Re: Paolo Guerrero
Nvm, just looked.
Banned in October, now appealed and whilst appeal is ongoing ban is suspended.
Clever move.

Re: Paolo Guerrero
A bunch of captains, from other World Cup sides had written to FIFA supporting his appeal.
Seems he drank a spiked drink.
Who knows?

I bet they did.... Top sports stars are all on the juice, why would football (the sport with one of the highest financial gains from success; which drugs bring) be any different.piston broke wrote:A bunch of captains, from other World Cup sides had written to FIFA supporting his appeal.

It's a fraternity, and they will all back each other incase one of them gets pulled.

Re: Paolo Guerrero
I'm guessing no one supported Berahino when he got banned?

Re: Paolo Guerrero
I wouldn't argue with you at all. i posted a link last week to an article in the Independent connecting Spanish football to Dr. Fuentes who was the doctor on call to most of the cyclists done over the early noughties. A Spanish judge made them destroy all the samples that could have proved who the guilty were.PrecisionClaret wrote:I bet they did.... Re: Paolo Guerrero
There is more to this than what has been stated on here. Ban was originally 12 or 18 Months which was reduced to 6 by FIFA due to his story and then extended again by WADA. I think this is the Swiss Supreme Court that has basically put it on hold now. To be honest he’s 30 something his country hasn’t qualified for the World Cup for about 30 Years. It will be unlikely that he will ever play in 1 again even if his Country was to qualify. I think his story of what happened is widely believed by most and WADA extending the ban was a shock. I hate drugs in sport and I have no idea if he is inocent or not but I believe strongly in innocent till PROVEN guilty so I have no issue with him being allowed to play.

He tested positive for drugs.
How it happened is HIS problem.
Yet you feel sorry for him?

Who said I feel sorry for him? I stated the facts as I knew them and then said it wouldn’t bother me if he went, I couldn’t care less if he went to the World Cup or not

Apologies, I just re-read that, the first time I mistook it for sympathy.JarrowClaret wrote:Who said I feel sorry for him? I stated the facts as I knew them and then said it wouldn’t bother me if he went, I couldn’t care less if he went to the World Cup or not
