Re: Ben Gibson
Re: Ben Gibson
Aden Flint having medical at Boro and fee already agreed with Bristol City so maybe some potential for a bid
Gibson will cost a lot of money but far more experience at our level than the likes of Worrall
Also, naturally left sided whereas Dawson is right

Gibson is also considerably better than the pair of them

The fee quoted for Flint is only £7m so would have been a good understudy for us at that price
Re: Re: Ben Gibson
Yeah we were beaten to the punch by Boro it seems, if the links to him are true of course.jojomk1 wrote:The fee quoted for Flint is only £7m so would have been a good understudy for us at that price

I doubt we were beaten to any punch, no interest in him as far as I'm aware.KRBFC wrote:Yeah we were beaten to the punch by Boro it seems, if the links to him are true of course.

Re: Re: Ben Gibson
WBA were rumoured to be interested in him, which could add another layer of difficulty to signing Dawson. One of their targets signing for another club won't make things easier for them and it could firm up their resolve to keep Dawson.
With the departures of Evans, Gabr and Mc Cauley they only have Dawson and Hegazy left on their books for the centre back slot.
Providing that Hegazy does have a release clause, and clubs are interested in him, they could find themselves with no centre backs at all if they allow Dawson to leave and Hegazy follows.

I just saw we were linked with him along with a host of other clubs in the Bristol Post, zero idea how true the link was.ClaretTony wrote:I doubt we were beaten to any punch, no interest in him as far as I'm aware.
Re: Ben Gibson
Pulis in tall goal scoring centre half shocker, hold the back page.
As for understudy? I doubt that at his age.
If we can get Gibson at 20m though I'd be making a move asap.

Would take Gibson. Left footed centre halves are rare - eventual successor to Mee.

Re: Re: Ben Gibson
I once tipped off the club about Flint when he was at Swindon, I was led to believe from someone at Swindon that Burnley were looking too - he went down in my estimations by the way he left Town though, he did a local spread in the Bristol press being very disrespectful to Swindon and his former team mates.ClaretTony wrote:I doubt we were beaten to any punch, no interest in him as far as I'm aware.

Aden Flint is too slow to play at Premiership level.Kev Long must be around the £15m mark now as an experienced cb if we decided to cash him in.

If he's available, you'd think we'd be in for him.
Not sure that he's available though

Even if he is available I suspect he would probably be outside our price range

My 199th post was an epic.
Having nudged over the 200 mark I've decided to branch out and experiment with more tactical diversity in my posting.
Re: Re: Ben Gibson
Gibson would be amazing for one reason... Twitter. The Boro fans would be in meltdown if little old Burnley signed him!!
