Electronic repairs Nelson
A short while ago, there was a thread on here about a specialist electronic repair company or shop and I'm sure it was in Nelson.
Can anyone give me details of it?
Thanks.

Re: Electronic repairs Nelson
It's a mixer for a P.A. system that I need repairing. Wilkinson's rings a bell tbh.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Electronic repairs Nelson
It's an old one, a Peavey. XM4? Or series 300 EH?
We've been told it's un repairable but I'm not sure. The official word was that the transistors and resistors "Have all gone"
In my limited electronic experience, they don't all go, so I was thinking of a second opinion at least and maybe even a repair.
Details of the fault condition are a little vague. Maybe no output would be a fair shout.

Andrew Kay of Opus on Parker Lane (opposite the police station) has repaired things for me in the past.
Worth a shout. Not Nelson though, I grant you.

I know of the place, thanks. That would be much closer than Nelson. I just remember seeing the thread about the place in Nelson that's all.
I'll give him a shout.
Cheers.

Re: Electronic repairs Nelson
Parts are quite cheap from Peavy and DIY -able and straight forward.
Even cheaper from other places
https://www.peaveyservice.co.uk/electro ... nents.html
If it's very old - might be worth doing a full service / replacement of some parts. A stitch in time and all that...
Some good vids on youtube can usually walk you through it.
Also get in touch with "The Amp Clinic" in Manchester - The guy knows his onions so to speak and is top drawer.
Hope this helps.
